November 5, 200718 yr i've never been in love so i can't really say, but i'm one of those people who thinks you can only be in love once, so i think it takes a while
November 5, 200718 yr Actions speak louder so don't put so much pressure on the words. BUT if you must, then make sure you are real close and you can see deeply into his/her eyes. Then proceed. 3months.

November 5, 200718 yr Yeah like DUHH Valerie, like who doesnt know that?! :dozey: lol I'm sorry Mark, even if I watched TV, I don't think Russian TV would broadcast anything about Charles and his personal life problems.
November 6, 200718 yr well honestly i never said those three words, though i polled above 1 week:P but i just fill it in:D sorry because in indo culture, "i love you" its only for relationships or spouses not being like as family because its different. though, i cant explain details as well:( or mostly people here are usually saying "i like you" in indonesian is "aku suka kamu" :D
November 6, 200718 yr yeah as some of you have said already - it's different to say "i love you" in finnish to a friend than to someone you're actually in love with. No one actually says "i love you" to a friend here. So it's not like in english when you can always go "oooh, i meant that i love you as a friend!" if the other person looks shocked. Actions speak louder so don't put so much pressure on the words. Agreed. For me it will most probably take a looong time before i can say it.. i just have to be sure i mean it. And i like to do things to express my feelings..rather than say how i actually feel.
November 8, 200718 yr I voted "1 month"...but only because someone said "I love you" to me...and I've known this guy for 2 months now....the bad thing is that I really have a tiny crush on this guy and he said it after I gave him a handkerchief...:bigcry: Not really a prductive reply to this...
November 9, 200718 yr I can't vote. Because in my country we know 2 different meanings of English "I love you." 1st one is kind of similar to "I like you" and can be said basically to anyone you know and like as a person. it's also used in love relationships, and it means a lot to your "better half". well, at least it should. 2nd one has its full meaning connected with true love, but it's rarely said. well. it has a really strong meaning and i somehow not dare to say it, because i know it's not quite true. so, uhm ... so the 2nd version really can't be used after being together for a month or so because you don't even know the person you're going out with, not so well. but then again, when do you know him/her well enough to say it? you can get married and then find out that your spouse is a complete bastard. Ohhh, I think is the same in spanish... And I think in one month or more is okay to say it- Of course if you really feel it. It has to do more with the dynamics in the relationship.
November 9, 200718 yr Reilly is back and posting? I just may have to come and visit the lounge a little more often. Good post. I voted for 3 months, I guess it would be the 3-6 month range for me. I think you can't say it too fast because you don't really know the other person that much. Its such a hard thing to do. I've only really said it once....and that was last week. didn't go so great.
November 9, 200718 yr One month... the time is okay, obviosly it will get more and more meaningful with the time. At least that's what happened to me. I first said it to my actual gf when we were on our 2nd month.
