COLDPLAY frontman CHRIS MARTIN says he hates being famous.

 

The shy singer revealed he gets stressed every time he comes home to Britain because of his high-profile status.

 

He finds dealing with life while going out with GWYNETH PALTROW “difficult” and prefers the stress-free life in America.

 

Chris, whose band won the top Silver Clef gong at yesterday’s Nordoff-Robbins awards, says: “I get really stressed when I’m here. Everyone follows me around and it’s difficult.

 

“I can’t even pick my nose without getting grief.

 

“I don’t go to premieres and I don’t pose on the red carpet with my girlfriend. To me that suggests a couple who want to be left alone.

 

"Don’t get me wrong, I love my life and I love being in a band but there are some parts of being famous I hate. I’m basically very picky and need a good slap.”

 

Chris, who turned up at the charity lunch without Gwyneth, refused to be drawn on whether they were engaged. He said: “I’m sorry but I don’t want to talk about that aspect of my life. I like to keep that private if that’s OK with you.”

 

Bad news though for fans waiting for another single from their multi-platinum A Rush Of Blood To The Head. There won’t be one, nor a new album for some time.

 

He revealed: “We’ve got to get out of people’s faces. I get worried about people starting to hate us.

 

"In Britain there’s this build- them-up-and-knock-them-down attitude. It’s my home but I get really stressed every time I come back.

 

“But I’m not the band. People who buy Coldplay’s music know we are all as important as each other. I’m just one finger of the Kit Kat.”

I feel sorry for him - atlast he has spoken out and admitted that like everyone else he needs space and wants to live his life without his every move being questioned and pondered upon.

 

I doubt anyone here would like their relationship to be in the full gaze of the media spotlight, and this is the same spotlight Chris won't want to be in the full gaze of.

 

And in conclusion when Chris explains:

 

“But I’m not the band. People who buy Coldplay’s music know we are all as important as each other. I’m just one finger of the Kit Kat.”

 

As fans we know there are four members and not just the one, this is what makes Coldplay what they are - so why are Will, Jon and Guy not getting the same attention do you thin, as fans? - Is it just because of Gwyneth?

I think the reason that Chris gets more attention is because he is the frontman and typically, frontmen get the most attention and they are the ones who usually speak on the bands behalf. Also, as much as I hate to say this, I think also that Chris gets more attention because he is so charasmatic and people are generally drawn to him. I can imagine that the stress of the media always being down your throat is a horrible feeling too. I hear that the media in Britian is much worse than the US. I don't blame him for feeling the way he does. I also think he makes an excellent point of saying he's concerned that people will begin to hate them because they are everywhere. He is smart to be thinking that way. People do tend to start getting annoyed with celebrities that are everywhere.
