I've been listening to them again. I can't wait for the new album this year. Any word on when it is coming out?

Yeah I want to get that at some point, I just have a pirated version of Lets Bottle Bohemia.

I love So Much For the City, but I haven't got change to listen Let's Bottle Bohemia. :cry:

I believe it's out later this year.

If only I had a copy of the Irish NME, which has a largish feature on them this week.

I wish I could get NME over here in north america and not have to pay an arm and a leg.

According to rumours, there will be an NME for North America released soon, for the US market.

That would be nice. I'm not a huge fan of American music magazines. Too much hip-hop and american politics. Both of which I don't care for.

The Thrills Hope To Thrill Again With Teenager

Irish band The Thrills recorded their new Teenager album in Vancouver, but it appears that Canadians will have to pay import prices if they want to add it to their collection.

The Dublin quintet — pianist Kevin Horan, bassist Padraic McMahon, lead vocalist Conor Deasy, drummer Ben Carrigan and guitarist Daniel Ryan — spent time on Canada's west coast last year working on the record with producer Tony Hoffer (Air, Beck).

The group formed in 2001 and attracted attention with the 2003 release of their So Much For The City debut, which blended classic California pop melodies and roots rock elements. Let's Bottle Bohemia followed a year later and was seen by many critics as a disappointment, so it remains to be seen if the band will be able to recapture the magic with the long-awaited Teenager, which should be available in Canada through import outlets and some online retailers by the end of July or early August.

The Thrills have dates scheduled throughout the U.K. until mid-August, and no North American concerts have been announced.

Here are the songs on Teenager:

* "The Midnight Choir"

* "This Year"

* "Nothing Changes Round Here"

* "Restaurant"

* "I Came All This Way"

* "Long Forgotten Song"

* "I'm So Sorry"

* "No More Empty Words"

* "Teenager"

* "Should've Known Better"

* "There's Joy To Be Found"

* "The Boy Who Caught All The Breaks"

Out on the 23rd July in the UK (According to Amazon)

That would be nice. I'm not a huge fan of American music magazines. Too much hip-hop and american politics. Both of which I don't care for.

Me neither.;)

Just listened to a few of the new Thrills songs, not bad.

The Thrills announce US release of 'Teenager'

Third album comes out Stateside in October

The Thrills are gearing up for the release of their third album 'Teenager', set for release on October 23.

The album is the follow-up to 2004's 'Let's Bottle Bohemia', and was recorded at The Warehouse in Vancouver, Canada with producer Tony Hoffer, who worked with the band on their debut 'So Much For The City'.

"We were definitely striving for a new standard," says frontman Conor Deasy. "It is a record about adolescence, but it's also a record about leaving it behind."

According to guitarist/bassist Padraic McMahon the record is "not nostalgic or unduly sentimental. It's looking back and realizing how you've moved on."

The track listing is:

'The Midnight Choir'

'This Year'

'Nothing Changes Around Here'

'Restaurant'

'I Came All This Way'

'Long Forgotten Song'

'I'm So Sorry'

'No More Empty Words'

'Teenager'

'Should've Known Better'

'There's Joy To Be Found...The Boy Who Caught All The Breaks'

The Thrills Thread

What has happened to The Thrills? They're a fantastic band that has given us three great albums.

Havent heard anything for a while, their last album was in 2007, then they got dropped by EMI. Hopefully they haven't dispanded.

Their myspace, wikipedia and official pages give absolutely no insight.

Anyone know anything??

It's annoying - nothing! I am tempted to find out something my contacting them. Hopefully they're writing new material.

Anyone heard any recent events or anything?

I am really worried.

Well, in the meantime I aim to introduce these guys to Coldplayers:

Enjoy.

Havent heard anything for a while but they are an awesome band.

Like you said they have been dropped, so maybe they are on an extended break to do songs for their 4th album.

Or maybe they have split up without the news hitting the media, just going on their separate ways, like Pulp (who never 'split up')

I can't find any news at all, can't even contact anyone. Their myspace page is regularly checked, so someone does care.

Sometimes bands dropping off the radar is a good thing, as they return 3 years down the line with an amazing album.
