Should I cut my hair short?

Featured Replies

Typical guyness... I actually did read somewhere it was scientifically proven that men are more attracted to women with longer hair..

It's true, girls with long hair to me are more attractive than girls with short hair.

You're really pretty

Who needs to impress guys, anyways. :P

Personally, I think getting my hair cut shorter is liberating. I feel like I can start anew, and I get motivated to do things.

New hair, new attitude. :P

Long hair is overrated, haha. Mine's growing out, but I'm hoping to get it cut soon.

Hurray for women independence!! Oh and men too! :P

that's the talk, girl!

It really does make you go Zaza alright let's go hos :cool3:

It does! It makes me wanna go shopping for some new sweaters and shoes, and start knitting again (because I never finish my knitting projects) and cook dinner and the whole schabang! It's so motivating, really.

It gives a little more confidence too.

 Aw thank you!!

i'm actually having a similar dilemma, but i think i'm going to do it. though i dont think i'm planning to go as short as youre thinking. what i would do (and am going to do :P) is get it cut to my chin (which is where i always cut it to), and then perhaps go shorter. ive always wanted to try out really short hair just once and see if i could pull it off, but i'm scared that i'll be stuck that way for quite a while if i cant pull it off because my hair grows really slow. and i hate not being able to pull my hair back! so that may be something to think about.

but my hair is just naturally INSANE and curly and frizzy so i straighten it every day, and a really short cut would make that impossible.

Heh... I just got my hair chopped off last night...

Based on your picture, I'd say you would look really nice if you tried cutting it about shoulder length and then had it layered around your face. But that's just my opinion.

Hey, in the end it's just a hair cut, and it grows back. I've had it short and I've had it long enough to sit on. I prefer long, but the main thing I've found is that healthy hair is always nicer whatever length it is... and even if you cut the damaged part off and don't like it, you will like it alot more once it grows out...

I want a bob. I would be so kickass.

i do too, but i think i'd look ridiculous. especially on days that i dont feel like straigtening it--i'd have a complete afro.

but if youre really going to go short, i highly recommend donating to locks of love! i used to have hair down past my butt, and when i decided to get rid of it i cut off almost 20 inches and because i have such thick hair they made three wigs out of it! its just a really nice thing to do, and i think they only need like 7 inches to do it.

Get it shaved.

Although I think only Natalie Portman could ever pull off that look...

She can pull off anything, she's so naturally beautiful she doesn't need hair. Hehe.

i was surprised at how amazing she still looked after it was shaved!! and i loved when it was starting to grow in and it was super short--shes just so beautiful.

well, shaved heads would be sooo much easier to manage! i put way too much time and effort into my hair, and it never shows because its such a pain in the ass to deal with in the first place. gah.

My hair is naturally straight (it's an Asian thing), but I have SO much hair and it's thick...I can't do anything to it but keep it straight. :( I don't bother curling it because it'll just go back straight.

^how i wish i had that problem!!!!

no one's ever seen my hair naturally (besides my family on days i'm not leaving the house) because its that insane. i may go out in PJs and without makeup, but my hair WILL be tame!

Grrrr......so you're saying I'm not as gorgeous as Natalie Portman?? :dozey::rolleyes:

I just got my hair cut yesterday.. was a lil past my shoulders and I got it cut to my mid neck. I like my hair this length better. Always have. its short enough to wear down and not be a bother, but i can still pull it back/half way back when i want it out of my face. Personally ive never been a fan of really long hair, not saying that it looks bad, cuz it doesnt, just i prefer medium to short hair. SOOOOOOOO much easier to take care of.

I think you should get it cut at least to your shoulders, maybe a little higher. But not too short. Random pic I found on google:

nat_haircut_fringe.jpg

that's a good length I think

and you can get it so the bottom doesn't look so linear, like this person did.

I can't see the pic, eric :uhoh:

But anyway, maybe it's good if you cut it to your shoulder length and then see if you want to have it shorter like many people have suggested

Yeah i can't see it either ....

Thanks for everyone's input though !!!

Hahahahha that lady looks so high.

But yeah, that could be a good length for me. I'll see.

Not about this photo, but the thing is i don't want something just 'nice' (i.e. boring!), i want something that's totally awesome ...
