yeah, my brain says itll just be a clip of them performing on the first show or whatever, especially now that mo said theyve been doing clips a lot recently. theyll probably show the clip from their last performance and remark on how young they looked or whatever.

 

but i still cant supress a very tiny spark of hope over a live performance of new material. even though i dont think coldplay would reveal a new song or the Information on a US late-night show that doesnt have a whole lot of viewers (at least probably not as much as leno or conan, right?). it's not like them, and i doubt very many mainstream artists would choose the jimmy kimmel show to make some big announcement.

Makes alot of sense, but still, IM NOT SURE HOW MUCH LONGER I CAN TAKE THIS TORTURE!

At the least maybe they might be there and play a classic song like yellow or clocks or something.But now my hopes are up too!!

I don't believe it'll be anything new. I think they'll show the performance Coldplay did on the premier of the show 5 years ago. As tight lipped as they are being about this new album I don't think they would debut their new material in this way. I'd love to be proven wrong, though :(

Even if theres no new material, I'm hoping they talk about the new album - even if its something brief, you know. (I'm expecting way too much, I know)

Doesn't that show tape in LA? If they are in New York still working on the album then I don't see that happening.

 

Also, the show website says Sarah Silverman has a surprise AND a performance from Coldplay so I don't think Coldplay performing is the surprise. If it is then they just gave it away!

On the official ABC/Jimmy Kimmel website it says a"musical performance by Coldplay". It's his fifth anniversary! They can't just play a tape.

Coldplay don't always necessarily do the most obvious thing. They premiered "Speed of Sound" on Lamacq Live which wasn't the most listened to radio show in the UK at all and they are trying to do things differently this time around.

 

Oh yeah, a question for any Americans: what does 12:05/11:05c mean? I know its a time but why two? What does "c" stand for?

it means 12:05 in the eastern time zone, and 11:05 in the central time zone.

ack, i dont know what to think. i'm starting to get the feeling that i should stake my claim to the TV at midnight to see what happens, because my stomach has begun to go topsy-turvy with hope. but i just know that if i let my hopes get too high and this turns out to be a tape from 2003 or something equally as disappointing, i'll be pissed. this is why i'm a pessimist in general: so i'm either unsurprised by the outcome or pleasantly suprised. but when i'm so excited about something like i am for LP4, it's hard to ignore the hope...

it starts in 2.5 hours (it's 9:20 here right now). i think i'm just going to be glued to my computer to see what people say before i barge in and take over the TV. and i can always watch online tomorrow. so PLEASE someone post something here ASAP if we get wind of it ACTUALLY being coldplay early in the broadcast??

i wonder that if we decide to go to bed or i opt not to watch, if i'l be ABLE to sleep knowing that something concerning LP4 could be going on! AND i have early class tomorrow morning, so i dont think i'll have a spare moment to check online before i run off; my mornings are generally rushed and predominantly cranky. and i'm going to be fidgeting all class!! well, i will be either way: if we do get the Information/a performance or if i don't check. Don't let the "live" part of the title fool you. It's pre-taped earlier in the day. The west coast always gets network shows a few hours later than the rest of the continent because of time zones.
