So, we know now that Jonny plays a simple guitar accompaniment to Chris's piano in Postcards From Far Away live. (I haven't heard the EP yet, don't ruin this for me) But I don't know if Jonny always did this. Did it just start out with Chris on piano alone? Angie told me she thinks it used to be just Chris. So I like to imagine it happened like this:

 

Chris wrote this beautiful piece of music and began to incorporate it into the live shows. Jonny usually stands onstage in the dark and watches him play during this part of the show. Then Jonny decides to come up with something simple that compliments Chris's part without drawing attention away from it. So during one show, Jonny debuts his part, in the dark, while Chris plays the piano. Chris has no idea Jonny has come up with something, and here he is playing it live with Chris for the first time anyone has heard it like this. As a surprise, as a gift. For the one he loves.

Now, Jonny always plays this when they do Postcards live. A dimmed spotlight shows him. He's no longer in the dark.
