What odd weather

Featured Replies

Yeah it's been ridiculous. It's nearly impossible to plan something cause it can be sunny all day, rain for 20 minutes and then back to sun.

And then when you throw snow into everything. Sunday morning we had a lot of snow then by midday it had all gone.

And here I thought England had not quite the same spring cold snaps like we see here! I'm just glad I don't live in Duluth - blizzard conditions all night tonight, and howlin' wind! Brrr....

odd weather indeed in the susquehanah valley of PA!

all week it's been 80 degrees F (26 degrees C) here and absolutely beautiful. it feels like july, and it's early april! i spent pretty much all day reading out on the lawn on a blanket, and i actually have a bit of a tan now. insane! where i'm from (4 hours away by car), it's still normal april weather, but the crazy climate we get here has got something to do with being in the valley. we get unbelievably warm weather compared to the rest of the area and insane amounts of rain, but it's been so beautiful and summery all week! i can't believe i'm wearing shorts and filp flops in april.

^ Luckily, we got a little sunshine here today :nice: I could actually open my window without freezing to death! Yay!

Its no where near the climate you have there though. It sounds really nice... although I'm not too keen on hot stuffy nights though, it takes me long enough to get to sleep without sweating profously.

It was 85 farenheit here today and sunny!

*dodges thrown objects*

^where are you located, exactly, melanie?

yeah, it's still pretty cool at night, but warm enough to keep the window open and have a nice breeze and be able to sleep in shorts. somehow i sleep better on those nights, which is kind of a rareity for me. luckily we have AC in my dorm too, so i don't think it'll get too bad.

near Orlando in the sunshine state!

^ohhhhh, that would explain a lot! you always have weather like that! (well not always, of course, but much better than in frosty CT where i'm from!)

i'm just surprised it's 80 in central PA! (or was...now it's like 55 because it's 10PM)

^^I've got family in PA...my Dad is from a place called Clark's Summit...anyway...:laugh3:

Banana belt!

...Here, in the sub-arctic, it's a lovely 28F (roughly -2 Centigrade), with the new-fallen snow frozen like a thick crust of bread..

Another rainy day.

It goes though stages where it looks like it's going to absolute chuck it down, getting dark and moody before clearing up.

I've just had a nasty patch where it was raining ice, here's my car from the bedroom window.

We got hailed on whilst walking through the garden centre yesterday. By the afternoon, I was bathed in sunshine whilst watching Altrincham v Salisbury at Moss Lane.

That's right Dave, I watched your beloved Salisbury lose 3-1 after being a goal up. Alti did need the points though :(

Meanie :P

It's alright though as Salisbury are in mid-table, can't get enough points for the play-offs and are safe from the drop, which for a team which got promoted 2 years running is rather good going.

Salisbury looked far the better team in the first half, Matt Tibbs and No6 Fowler looked your best players, and Alti's first goal was a foul on the keeper as well as a def. Alti still need a miracle if they're to stay up.

At one point interestingly there were more Salisbury fans queuing up for a pie just before half time than there were actually in the terrace watching the game.

What odd weather.....high of 63 for tomorrow in Florida....in mid April! that's insane. I don't ever remember it being this cool in Florida in April.

*wishes America would switch to Celsius like the rest of the world*

Its crazy, a 16 year old kid died here yesterday because he was struck by lightening!!! It's pretty freaky!!

i agree! it makes soooo much more sense. we've just got to be different, haven't we :dozey:

i have to say that if we did switch, though, i'd be really thrown off. when you guys say it's 30 degrees or something (which i think is pretty warm), i can't help but think that's a below freezing temperature, because it is in degrees F. somehow that's one thing i have a very hard time wrapping my thinking around. when i'm over there i'm going to need a pocket converter or something.
