Haha, never mind. I'm in a bit of a spamming mood tonight :P

And yes, last week someone was claiming they had another version of Crest Of Waves, with the same instrumental recording but with a different vocal take from Chris. This happened in the multimedia section, and we're still waiting for the guy to come back and explain why he so happily whipped us all into a frenzy about it :dozey:

I think we used to have a thread about how people feel about downloading. I'm not as against it as I used to be since I'm a broke musician, but there's a difference between downloading rare/live/other tracks that aren't available and downloading VLV, which I would never do! (If it leaks, I'll DL it until I can buy it, but I WILL buy it)

I upload/download a lot, but I ALWAYS buy the albums when I have the money.

I usually download only thru iTunes, never illegally or without paying. But with certain bands like Coldplay, I have too much respect and I'm willing to pay the few extra bucks to support them dircetly by getting the CD in stores.

Ok, I thought that buying the albums didn't help them really. I thought that what really supports them is by going to the concerts and giving them the money directly. So, I heard (I'm pretty sure on here) that they don't really care if you download their music free. As long as you go to the concerts. I swear I heard that on a thread before.

And I'm pretty sure we're all off topic because I didn't ask about downloading. I just asked what the old album version was but it turned out to be WHEN you download, that's what you get. I didn't get the difference from the old or the 'new' version so thank you all for your help.

gah, it's like me asking about a ham and I get responses about a turkey.

I think the real money is in airplay anyway. Our Performing Rights Society here says that the royalty for each play of a song is 8.5 cents. Doesn't sound like a lot until you think of the hundreds and thouhsands of times Coldplay have been on the radio.
