IM SEEING SLASH LIVE TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOOOOOOOO

Alright, good for you! I don't know about the solo album, but you are sure to get a couple of tracks off Appetite for Destruction. Surprisingly, they are really good when they are played with other people. It's just a great album.

im seeing axl in december so it will be interesting to compare the two shows. im hoping for a good 4 or 5 GnR songs.

which velvet revolver songs should i check out before the show?

I am not a huge Velvet Revolver fan, which always disappointed me because I love both GNR and STP. Go figure. I'm sure you'll get Slither and Fall To Pieces, which are both good songs.

I looked at some of the setlists, and you should get some good songs. It seems like it's a good mixture of Velvet Revolver, GNR, Slash solo, and some good covers. It looks like he's played "Rocket Queen" occasionally, which is one of my favorite GNR songs ever. It also looks like he's playing "Civil War", and I think that's one off the better songs of the Use you Illusion CDs. Of course, you'll most likely get some of the classics like "Sweet Child O' Mine" and "Paradise City." Those songs are not only great, but they are really fun live.

Two bits of advice:

1. Re-listen to Appetite for Destruction because it is one of the greatest guitar rock albums ever.

2. Go into the show with modest expectations. I've seen Slash solo a couple of times. It's not GNR, but it's a good night of music.

^^

noooooo dont tell me about setlists!!! im listening to appetite as i write this. im only really going cos i have a couple of friends who are big slash n Gnr fans, i would've much rather spent this money on going to see the strokes but nobody wanted to go with me. but i need my mosh-fix so im going to get nice and close to the stage and rock out even if ive never heard of half of the songs.

Also, I would watch GNR live from the Ritz on YouTube. It's one of my favorite live performances.

I relate to GNR, and especially Appetite for Destruction, so much. But I'm from Southern California, and I've spent many a night on the Sunset Strip. Appetite is an authentic, dangerous, sexy, over-the-top, gritty album, and it represents everything that was going on in the late 80s. Like I've said before, watch the "Welcome to the Jungle" video. It is autobiographical in many ways.

^^

I don't know what the setlist is going to be. It looks like it's been pretty varied...I'm just guessing.

I think you'll get a lot out of seeing Slash. The Strokes are great, but they are another Indie band, and I'm sure you've seen plenty of those (even though you should see The Strokes - I've seen them twice, myself). It's good to listen to different types of music live. It's what opens your eyes to different music. From there, you can take it or leave it.

Favourite song??

Mine has to be Civil war.

Did anyone read about him saying he had been sexually abused by his dad. But then he went on to say that he thought that his step dad that he grew up with was his biological dad because that is all he could remember? If he couldn't remember him then how did he remember that?

confuzzled

^ When you say "him" are you referring to Axl? I believe I've read that he claims sexual abuse as a child. Who knows? He's nutty, that's for sure.

Favorite GNR song is Rocket Queen.

Same, well I don't know it's so hard to pick just 1.
