If the rumours about the latest WGA tool are true in that disabling many features in windoze xp, then I will soon be a linux user.

i dual boot between WinMCE05 & Ubuntu 9.04 on my PC

loving Ubuntu............'cept that the support for sound cards is shiet & i had to live with no sound on 8.10 on both my onboard sound & the PCI sound card. then i made a gamble to update to 9.04, which has now gifted me with sound! hurray!!!

but, oh wait, i've got no sound at all on sites like YouTube & i only can have sound on 1 application at any time.

hence, the WinMCE05 will remain as my primary OS for now.

I tried Ubuntu on my laptop.

Tried being the key-word, after 10 minutes or so it booted up but to a blank screen. :(

you sure windows is better?

you know there are "packages" so you can improve your ubuntu on the area you are insterested in, as for instance to develop musical skills you can install Studio one. :)

linux is much better, the programmes have more and better features. :)

yeah, but then installing the packages can be a pain in the arse to do & the stuff that you need to tinker around from the Terminal (e.g. sound) can be a bit daunting for someone who doesn't know what in the world they're doing beyond Copy & Paste the codes on some website or forum.

tho at least the Pulse Audio with the latest updates/version has made things easier than before. i now have sound working fine with both my sound card & the onboard sound chip. finally. *fingers crossed*

They're true. It installed itself on my sister's laptop (which had a reformat from the place we got it from even though we told them NOT TO) and said that the version of Windows was a phony. The main option? Buy a new serial for about $300. You can get rid of it though.

I have been lucky and whenever it pops up asking me to install I say no.

And they can't install it automatically otherwise it will be classed as spyware :P

no more linux users?

molinux zoraida 6.0 here

(is a spanish develop-merge of ubuntu and debian).

Ubuntu 10.04, currently - and loving it ;) It's just perfect for efficiently getting stuff done.
