Radiohead is a much more intricate and seasoned in their technique and writing and well, they are not even comparable in the instrumental talents they have. I cannot compare the two... not even close after seeing them live twice this past month and am traveling for another date on their second leg. Their stage production was the best I have ever seen or heard!

Coldplay on the otherhand, I like their stuff also, but they are still trying to stretch their musical talents and maybe they will become as talented as Radiohead one day, in a different style definitely. And as far as stage production... well, as of this day, they seem like they can't it right for this upcoming tour.

When Radiohead went out on tour, they were ready. Thom's voice is the best in the studio or live, it is strong...while Chris's voice seems to be weaker these days...straining or trying to hard, I don't know what it is exactly.

The two Jonny's... Greenwood... so talented in many ways, in many directions, and classical work is outstanding... if haven't heard, the soundtrack from "There Will Be Blood"

Buckland... sorry, good guitarist, like to listen to him, is stretching abilities outside lately...but can't touch Greenwood.

Yes, this is a Coldplay site, you asked the question here. I like them both, but in different levels.

Once again, a well written response and good arguments. Not just slagging off on a band.

What you said about Jonny Greenwood is absolutely correct. To be honest I don't see any members of Coldplay ever putting out a solo album and have them being near the calibre of There Will Be Blood and the Eraser.

Different strokes for different folks, but musically I think Radiohead is much more talented.

We have had millions of polls just like this one, rather pointless if you ask me.

well said. particuarly with the jonny part. I mean Jonny Greenwood is a genius with his various musical playing abilities and also his composing (composing for Bodysong and There Will Be Blood are great). I think that Jonny Buckland is good for the band but I don't think he's really that great. I mean I remember hailing him as the Greatest guitarist in the world, but when you hear his solo's I find that they are more riffs than a solo because they tend to repeat themselves. that's why I find Jonny to be my least favorite member of coldplay.

After listening to this new album I think that Coldplay are heading towards a better direction. I really like how the songs are very different from one another and that they incorporate different instruments within the album.

For me I think the reason why I like bands like The Beatles (Help! and on), Radiohead, and Beck so much is that each album is different than the other one, which gives more of a variety, so if you aren't in the mood to hear one album another album can compinsate. I'm glad of the direction Coldplay is going and I think that they are heading in the right direction.

coldplay of course.

imagine if this thread was in the coldplay section where all the crazy noobs were hanging out! it wouldn't even be close! this is a fairer assesment because i trust most people who post here

thats completely accurate....

but i still like coldplay better:D

btw briggins what do you think of the new album? back on coldplay?

Coldplay, for sure, without the slightest doubt.

But I'd rather not say why, because it would become a rant, then a flamewar.

I think we are two different bands, with some similarities.

But I vote for Coldplay, but Radiohead Music also makes good.

Radiohead.

When i first listen to OK Computer or any other radiohead album, coldplay seem so superficial and easy. Coldplay are genious in what they do, making ejoyable music for a very large market. But they can't compare Radiohead.

Haven't listened to it yet. I'm waiting until later on in the month when it is released.

I think i agree with you.

wow.

I love Coldplay because of a personal history, and I love their songs.

But Radiohead makes such excellent music.

They made The Bends, then went even further with OK Computer and Kid A.

Coldplay are still stuck on The Bends.

But I love them equally.

sorry Radiohead here, hehe :p
