O2 or NIA - which is the better venue?

I've been to neither but seeing as I'm seeing Coldplay at the NIA I'm gonna say there! Plus it's smaller methinks.

i'm gonna say NIA too, for the beautiful brindley place round the corner and for walking alongside the canal boats. its very accessible to broad st too. Hope to see you there Bebop! I'm going on 1st Dec too. :)

I would say marginally O2, it feels less featureless than most arena venues. The NIA is pretty much par for arenas, same as Sheffield, Manchester etc. Though neither are great, heart-warming or uplifting venues but all arenas feel that way. You will have a good time at either.

i know jimmy page (led zeppelin guitarist for those who didn't know) had major problems with the sound at the o2 , he wasn't satisfied and spent weeks going back and forward talking to various sound technicians who had been used at the o2. But then i also know elto john sounded amazing there apparently the stones sounded like shit though. No doubt coldplay have their sound perfected though

Are you guys all on drugs or something?? The O2 is the better venue by FAR. Some people even say it's one of the best live sound venues in the world... hence why they only get the top artists to play there.

Lol

Have the 02 got you on advertising commission :D

Maybe... ;)

I saw (don't laugh) Justin Timberlake there once and I was blown away by how good the gig was. I think it was the place that made it... very intimate feel from the floor. I had standing tickets and I strolled in literally right before his gig and could EASILY get to the front... absolutely no point though as the view was amazing from where ever you was (on the floor at least, 1st tier seats will also be awesome).

To be fair, that type of concert is really going to test the limits of sound and vision in a venue more than a normal rock gig.

Not Cpldplay this year because it's too close to Christmas, but my friend and I are looking forward to seeing something there.
