crazyduckette
Aww! Well...I live in England and although we're surrounded by sea, there's not too many great places for it.... mostly Cornwall, Wales, Devon. I've been bodyboarding many times, very fun :) Two years ago I went surfing for the first time and it's awesome....I iloved it. Bodyboarding is great because its not so much effort....and when you get a good wave you can go for ageeees. Surfing is better because its's faster and when you're standing up above the water, it's an awesome feeling. No drowning for me, although lots of falling off and getting dragged under many, many times. I guess in Australia, it's so much better. The waves must be sooooo much bigger and better than here in England. haha! but maybe that's a good thing for me.

yellowtalk
I love bodyboard because theres no other feeling like that you get when you come down the face of a wave. However where i live although there are waves i cannot say they are really grand. Yes Mark, jelly fish do suck! Hate stingers because they downright hurt! Never seen a shark though! Never came close to drowning either.

marianatsl
I've tried surfing and bodyboarding some times but I'm not a vrey beachy type, so have failed in all of it. My dad is a surfer though, and I always loved to watch him surf since I was little...

Saffire
SC is nice rednecks are fun Yeah, we're friendlier than Yankees, and are surprisingly aware that honking our horn in traffic doesn't usually result in arriving at a destination any quicker. zeoir
i've never tried surfing. Sure, we have lots of lakes and water but the "waves" are usually soooooo tiny that it's just impossible to do that. I always want to try it when i'm abroad though but no luck so far :(

crazyduckette
Not really too bad. It was September when I went, so the water had been warmed during our summer. I forgot another observation I'd made about surfing...... it's damn hard work and exercise. Your arms have to be so strong and mine just couldn't cut it after three days straight! All the struggling and paddling out into the sea too. No wonder surfer guys are so fit :wink3:
