The Unplugged Tour

We came, we played, we drove the van ourselves and lived to tell the tale. With large vehicle handling skills ranging wildly within the band, from reliable excellence and efficiency (Jon Harper) through to kerb-jumping, three wheeling lunacy (Tom Bellamy), the biggest question as we embarked upon this mini tour was whether we'd make it out alive. But make it we did and we'd like to take the time to thank all of you who made it to the in-stores to join us.

The shows were great and the support from you guys at the signings was nothing short of what we've come to expect from the best fans in the world. Stripping back the songs down to their core was a challenge but ultimately extremely rewarding. We are also happy that you're enjoying the album and hopefully we'll be playing the songs live again very soon. Thanks must also be paid to the staff at the various stores for making us feel welcome and catering to our every whinging need.

 

As ever, Kieran, Tom and Ben took in the nightlife in as many cities as possible, particularly Manchester (is it actually possible to ever tire of the classic combination of Big Hands followed by Abduls?), whilst Jon battled manfully through a bout of the aztec flu and I read lots of books.

 

It has been an eventful week and we hope to see all you Londoners down at Fopp on Tottenham Court Road tomorrow. Now that we've actually worked out how to play our songs in an acoustic fashion, we'd like to play a few for you.

*Special mention must also be made of the celebrity we met at Keele services. He has been a big influence on us and it was an honour to meet none other than one of the country's biggest heroes, 'Oslo' from the alleged comedy that was Keeping Up Appearances. The legend is still firing on all cylinders and we hope to see him on our television screens again sooner rather than later.
