Hello fellow Coldplay fans!

Been a fan since 2000, and like many Coldplay fans, their songs have often been the soundtrack to my life the last 8 years!

Long Live Coldplay!

Phil

Welcome, welcome Phil, very nice to meet you here :)

Wow, a very long time fan! Have you seen the lads live many times? Hoping to see them later this year at all?

I didn't catch the band till 2002 as I'd been living out in Asia for a few years and was out of the Western music loop, (funnily enough my then-Japanese girlfriend was the one who introduced me to them). My first gig was Fuji Rock in Japan in 2003 - changed my whole life! :)

Btw, seeing where you live, I *think* there was a rumour on one thread here recently that Coldplay are going to play the Bowl there (is that the name?) next summer, you might want to check on that.

hi Phil!...great soundtrack for a life;) welcome:D

Although I'm a huge fan of theirs I haven't had much luck with getting tickets to their gigs. This year I missed out on the BBC and Brixton gigs. In 2005 I missed out seeing them at Alexandra Palace

Hopefully I will have better luck this year, I never heard about the Bowl rumour- there's nothing on their official website yet -but will keep my ears close to the ground !

If anyone knows where I can still buy reasonaly priced tickets for the O2 gig, I'd appreciate it!

Hello Phil! Wish I could be of some service to you - but trans-Atlantic flying is out of my price range, and I haven't a clue where to get tickets in the British Isles (unless you want to come to Chicago to see them!) - but that's probably sold out too! (scalpers have plenty I'm sure, but I've heard rumors of fans shelling out $400 for $70 tickets - which, in these days of deflating dollars may not be much, but still, it's a lot!).

Um.. reasonably priced tickets? Is there such a thing??:laugh3:

You mean Crystal Palace? I was lucky enough to be there one night - rain and all, it was beautiful (and last time I heard my beloved Warning Sign live, alas) :)

Search on here for the Bowl rumour - the guy who posted works there, or his brother does or something...anyway it was random but interesting (and especially for you!)

Also, the official site often seems the last place to post certain breaking news, somehow, lol, so keep your ears close to the screen when you're logged on here and dare to dream a bit, and hopefully see you at the O2 gigs later this year!!

:)

Thanks for the offer, I might be in LA in early August, but i understand by that time Coldplay will have moved on from California?

Reasonably priced tickets? Yes of course there are!! I gave away a Brixton ticket on here just to make someone happy (OK I know they were free to begin with, but people were paying over £100 on ebay to get in, and no-one needs the money like me!) And it was one of the best things I ever did - made me so very happy in return, it was priceless :) And my 6 tickets for this December in London are worth a ridiculous amount, but I may have two spare, and have already promised them to a guy on here for face value because I know he's a true fan desperate to see them. That's what it's all about!! :)

knighthood or saint?

I'm impressed - that is extremely generous and thoughtful! For that, you have either earned your wings, or shall be granted knighthood!:crown: Oh that's right - they had those free concerts!! Now I remember!! "We're starting from a place of freeness.." as Chris said on the radio interview.. Well, good for you! I'm sure the person to whom you gave them had a fantastic time, and appreciated every second of it!;)

But people were paying 100 Pounds on Ebay to get in?? I thought the tickets were free? Perhaps once they were given out, people started selling them off? Oh well - scalpers never end.

True - generosity is the gift of sharing happiness; & if I had tickets, I would do just the same. ;) & since clocks was my gift to the world,, it's good to see them doing the same..

But the regular prices, aside from the free concerts - what is that usually? Is it reasonable, or a bit pricey??

Well if you have any more of these tickets, let me know. No sign of that Bowl gig BTW - anywhere on the web!

chuck kottke thank you :) There were many scalpers on ebay and elsewhere. Some of the people who won tickets apparently only entered to make some money :( I was one of the lucky ones to get the FREE tickets, so I chose to share my joy with another true fan on here. There is no future reward for me - my reward was making someone else so very happy, and the huge bonus was that the guy I gave it to was a great chap who actually made my night perfect at the gig by sharing it with me completely (I'm straight by the way lol).

Have you searched this site LLL, I was pretty sure it's on here???

;) And thank you as well for informing me about all this :) - I haven't been to a concert yet, so I have only an inkling of how the process works. Sad to see people taking advantage of a generous offer by entering to then scalp tickets - not everyone is so enlightened as you are!

Well, that's fantastic! It's good to be in good company, and having fun is much better with friends, I agree! From a position of generosity, comes greater wealth.;)

Yep, there's 6 references to MK on here: Robbie Williams gig. Green Day gig, Toronto gig, complaint about the locality of the railway station, and something about a woman being arrested for attacking someone with jelly!

hey phil..............nice to meet you

Oh I must check out that jelly thread, missed that! Found the thread and my mistake it's the Reading FC ground, not the Bowl near you. Still, there look pretty likely to be some stadium/festival gigs next summer in the UK:

6 tickets! That must have set you back a fair bit!! :)

It wasn't cheap I must say. Just before TicketScam sold out I bought four tickets for myself and my friend, plus little sis and her chap, all seated together in the first tier. But then tickets were released for the day before, and I got the heads-up on here from a very kind soul, and checked the area and they were in a floor block - so what could I do?! I got two and will be taking my friend the first night and going to both nights myself I guess (and despite the screams of my wallet!)

The silly thing is, my friend has a box at the O2, and so I could probably go for free at least one night. But i want to sit (!!) with my sis and her man the second night, and treat my mate (and myself!) to the incredible floor tickets the first...
