chillinrevev
With the shift in sound from Coldplay on the new album, and now Keane (radically) and Travis. Even Sigur Ros have gone for a different sound and Athlete on their two non-album tracks from the new single . What of the forthcoming U2, Snow Patrol and Embrace? Is this the end of countless Coldplay imitations and the beginning of everyone finding their own groove. Will be interesting to hear and see. Keane have so far been very brave, very retro. Will Eno make another radical U2 album like Unforgettable Fire and Zooropa? The year of living dangerously.
Famous Old Painter
Bloc Party are another good example, they've gone electro.
Pseudonym
Even my band has dropped the mainstream mindset and we've gone off into our own sound.

Malcolm-Edge
No Line On The Horizon (U2s new one (possible title)) will blow Viva La Vida out of the water. It'll be different than Viva though as it'll have that classic U2 sound, other than the classic Coldplay sound. Another reason why I know it'll be better in its own right: Daniel Lanois is in the sessions as well. He is Enos other half. They are the dynamic producing duo of the world. Those two on your album = Instant classic look at the thre U2 discs they did. All Top 500 all time. The next few year will be fun for sure though. Im holding on for an amazing ride. Any music fan will love it. The late 2000s will go down in history. I know it.

Fixed
What of the forthcoming U2, Snow Patrol and Embrace? Still no news on Embrace, which is rather depressing. I get the feeling their next one will be their last :(
Black Rose
All the U2 album will prove is how far Bono is up his arse by putting out another sub-standard album and then moaning about how it's not selling.
