Hi all,

Great to see that there's interest in this awesome project.

Sorry Noémie, it is a short clip but, thankfully the song is the end credit track to Bruce Parry's Amazon showing on BBC2 from tonight at 9pm.

You can also hear it on this YouTube video where [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRVafSeUKfc]Bruce Parry explains[/ame] what the project and his great adventure through the Amazon is all about. Includes footage of many of the artists in session in the studio.

Hopefully, you will also hear the track on your copy of the album which is available to buy now on iTunes and also from the 6th October as a physical copy from Play.com and [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bruce-Parry-Presents-Amazon-Tribe/dp/B001EDG2GS/ref=pd_rhf_p_t_3]Amazon.co.uk[/ame].

Thanks for your support!

Newsreel: Guy's Amazon song

New composition from Mr Berryman premieres tonight

Good evening. In just over an hour, BBC2 here in the UK will run the first part of its major new TV series, Amazon. The show will follow presenter Bruce Parry as he travels the length of the Amazon, from its source to the sea. For more info, click here.

The music which will soundtrack the end credits is a song called Ferreting, which was recorded by a new band formed especially for the project, Apparatjik. That group features Magne F from A-ha, Jonas Bjerre from Mew and Coldplay's very own Guy Berryman.

Ferreting is also the opening track on the fundraising album which accompanies the series, Amazon Tribe - Songs For Survival. You can hear a clip from it at the album's MySpace page, here.

The album is out on October 6th, but you can already pre-order it from HMV, Play and, of course, Amazon. Or, if you're in the UK, you can download any of the tracks (including Ferreting) from iTunes now.

Look Guy got his very own story in The Sun! :D

A-Ha Guy's an Eighties baby

COLDPLAY bassist GUY BERRYMAN has formed an offshoot new band with his musical hero, guitarist MAGNE FURUHOLMEN of Eighties pop champs A-HA.

Their outfit, THE APPARATJIK, also stars singer JONAS BJERRE, from Scandinavian psychedelic oddballs MEW.

Their track Ferreting is now the title tune for ace adventurer BRUCE PARRY’s new BBC2 telly series Amazon.

The delicate effort is also on a multi-artist album to accompany the show.

The double CD — Amazon Tribe: Songs For Survival — is released on October 6 and proceeds go to tribal rights charity Survival International.

WILL.I.AM, HOT CHIP and KT TUNSTALL also star on the collection.

Guy and his Coldplay pals have never hidden their fondness for cheesy Norwegian trio A-Ha, who ruled the charts in the Eighties and have enjoyed continued success during the 1990s and 2000s.

Tracks such as Take On Me and Hunting High And Low feature on Coldplay frontman CHRIS MARTIN’s iPod.

He once said: “Everyone asks what inspired us, what we’ve been trying to steal and what we listened to as we were growing up. The first band I loved was A-Ha.”

Coldplay form A-Ha 'supergroup'

(Thursday September 18, 2008 02:44 PM)

Coldplay star Guy Berryman has formed a supergroup with A-Ha, according to reports.

The band's bass player has hooked-up with Magne Furuholmen from the '80s pop act for the theme song to "Amazon", a new BBC TV show.

Calling themselves The Apparatjik, the collective, who penned main song "Ferreting", also includes Mew's Jonas Bjerre.

Their collaboration features on the soundtrack album to the Bruce Parry programme, as do Will.I.Am, KT Tunstall, Johnny Borrell, Hot Chip and The Go! Team.

"Amazon Tribe: Songs For Survival" is due for release on October 6.
