What Is Your HANGOVER Cure?

Featured Replies

I know exactly what you mean, Chelsea. Living on a college campus, I know so many people who just totally rely on getting completely wasted, often to the point of blacking out, to say they had a good weekend. It may also be because I'm just not much of a large crowd person (I prefer hanging out with smaller groups of people at a time), but I rarely go out to parties and drink. And when I do drink, which is rare to begin with, I don't have more than 2 or 3 and get a little bit silly. I have never been just flat-out drunk.

I am not a big drinker at all. Ive been drunk drunk with a major hangover once. However, I've been tipsy much more. I know it may sound stupid, but I think i am smart when I drink. I choose to drink with people I know and trust, and usually I bring my own alcohol with me. I dont usually drink pass the point of being really tipsy. Usually when I hit the fun drunk- I quit, drink water, relax and enjoy the rest of my night. And the fact that I rarely drink.. like I may drink a couple time a month if that. I am 21 years old, so if I go out on the weekends I may get a drink or two at a bar with friends, but that really all for me.

On a side note... I think its stupid when people assume they have to drink when they get to college.

lots of water before bed, and a shit-load of sleep! and then when u wake up, have another beer!

but i wasn't taught that in biology class. :inquisitive: i... heard about it a long... time... ago...

good going sherlock, i think you're onto something. ;)

I wasn't implying that they thought you how to cure hangovers in Biology.

But bread soaking up alcohol...in your stomach? LOL

The only real cure for a hangover is: time + sleep.

Cold showers, hot coffee, food, any of those things make you think you're feeling better, but in reality they do not help at all. If you eat a lot of solid food while you drink, it will help absorb the alcohol, and the hangover may not be as bad later. But once it has started, the best idea is sleep until your body has enough time to process the alcohol.

Mimosa's totally work, not that i would know:rolleyes:

hmm I think I've only been hungover once. my cousin took me to a college party and then when we got back to her house she made me chug like a whole bottle of water and she gave me some advil... but it didn't really help. I still felt dizzy/hazy/shitty all day the next day.

You can lessen the blow to the noggin' with water (both before passing out, and in the morning, or whenever you wake up); I would recommend some lemon, lime, or orange in the water - the added C helps scavenge some of the free radicals.
