What Is Your HANGOVER Cure?

Featured Replies

I've only really had one bad hangover and that was awful, I don't think there was anything to cure it....just lay around all day the next day, drink water and hope it goes away

but generally, I just drink loads of water as the end of the night out approaches, its free from the bar and also eating some bread or chips helps too, I think.

all of you young people dont drink like us oldies!!!! good for you. you must not come from dysfunctional families. i am so off topic. how r u Sarah?

Heh... well, to be honest, I did go out last night (which is sort of rare for me), and I later told my boyfriend I felt "wavy." :laugh3: But not wavy enough for a hangover!

I'm doing pretty good Christa, just been absolutely crazy with school work. I am counting down the days until the semester ends. I know I was slacking off this weekend, I hardly came online at all! But my boyfriend came down to visit me so I was pretty busy... but now that I should be working on a Shakespeare paper, I think it's safe to say I'll be spending a bit more time online!

water before passing out, aspirin, and water when you wake up!!

i heard you could eat bread to soak up the alcohol in your stomach. is this true?

but i wasn't taught that in biology class. :inquisitive: i... heard about it a long... time... ago...

good going sherlock, i think you're onto something. ;)

don't drink, you'll never have another hangover again!

Excellent advice.:smug:

Before going to bed: loads of water, an aspirin and some greasy food.

After waking up (if there is still a hangover): another aspirin, loads of water and more greasy food (like a full english breakfast of something).

It usually works for me... and the people that have been here for long know i'm a good drinker...

oh, i just remebered, when i wake up i have to have a bacon, egg and cheese with ketchup on a roll. lots of grease helps

Wow, I'm surprised how many people on here don't drink. :) I don't know many people in real life who never drink alcohol. The ones I do know don't do it for religious reasons.

I'm not saying this is a bad thing though. I guess it must be quite hard not to drink because it's very much a part of our culture.

Well I don't because I'm 16 and in the US you have to be 21 to drink by law.

But I still imagine myself avoiding alcohol, only because I see what it does to people and I really feel like I'd easily become dependent on it and could develop problems later in life. Just not worth the risk for me.

Makes sense. I just don't think I personally could do it. I couldn't imagine a night out without drinking. Lots of people will probably say you can have fun without alcohol, which is true... but not when going into town [in my opinion anyway].

i don't drink because i see what it does to people. not only alcoholics, but (especially) teenagers too young to drink under US laws anyway. it's ABSURD the way they drink and party, it's absolutely disgusting. i'm not anti-alcohol, i'm anti-alcohol abuse, and that's all i see, living on a college campus.

i used to drink minorly in high school, though not to get drunk. i hardly thought twice about drinking then, because it was always in a safe, controlled environment, and no one abused it there. they might have gotten a little silly, but it was never on the scale that i see it every friday and saturday night here.

anyway, enough ranting. my point is that i think you've drank too much if you have anything more than a tinge of a headache in the morning. i don't think anybody needs more than two to unwind enough to facilitate a good time.
