okay, so the idea is sort of stolen from a book i read awhile back...but here it goes..actually, the title's the same too so, sue me, i don't care :P

 

LIFE AS WE KNEW IT

 

 

Chris sighed as he looked out at the horizon. He could swear the large orange moon in the distance was getting bigger by the second, that its haze may soon consume the whole earth.

 

Of course, he knew it was impossible.

 

“Time to close up,” Jon called from behind him, flipping the light switch to the upper level of the bakery.

 

Guy and Will had already left, and as usual, Chris and Jonny would be the last to head home. “We had a great rehearsal today,” Chris patted his friend on the shoulder.

 

“I liked your new song,” Jonny replied, his keys jingling as he locked up the door.

 

“You always like my songs,” Chris teased.

 

Jon shrugged. “I honestly enjoyed it though.”

 

“Too bad Will doesn’t like it…”

 

“Oh, poo what Will says. I thought it was great.”

 

“Thanks, mate,” Chris gave Jonny a hug before he turned onto his street. “See you tomorrow!”

The next morning, the band met for an early rehearsal. They had another gig tonight, and they wanted to get some practice in.

 

“Well, what if you try tuning down Guy’s amp a little so I can hear it?” Will was trying to listen to a new riff Jonny had been working on.

 

Guy laughed and unplugged his amp. Chris let his eyes move along the keys of the piano.

 

“Break time?” Guy asked.

 

Jonny nodded, setting down his guitar.

 

“Yes!” Guy ran to his laptop, logging into Twitter.

 

Will grabbed his book and took a seat, Jon walking over to Chris. “You don’t seem like yourself today…” Jonny rested his hand on Chris shoulder. “Everything alright?”

 

Chris shook his head. “I had the worst trouble falling asleep last night…the neighbors got a bloody poodle and it yaps constantly.”

 

The two took a seat on the couch and flipped on the news.

 

“In the world of scientists,” the reporter began, “astronomers discovered late last night that the famed Halley’s Comet, has headed off course, and is moving towards the moon.”

 

Chris leaned in to get a better listen.

 

“Here’s Snorky Willis with the details.”

“Thanks, Aubergine. Now, you heard right, Halley’s Comet is heading on a collision course straight toward the moon. Scientists are predicting it to make direct impact in about two weeks time. Experts say that because of the size of the comet, there will be no major damage, just another blemish on the face of the man in the moon. Back to you, Aubergine.”

 

“That’s freaky,” Will had looked up from his book.

 

Jonny laughed. “Maybe the man in the moon will have three eyes instead of two then.”

 

Still, Chris had an awkward feeling about the situation. Two weeks from now? He sighed. Why worry? Of course, it was in his nature to worry. He always did it.

 

“Alright, I’m done,” Guy got up from his chair, practically oblivious to everything.

 

“How were your Berrygirls?” Chris avoided the subject on his mind.

 

Guy smiled. “Still begging for my attention.”

 

Will rolled his eyes. “Let’s just get back to rehearsal.”

Chris' POV

 

 

“So... neither of us were actually trying to seduce the other, but because we both thought we were being seduced... we went along with it?”

 

“I guess so.”

 

“What a stroke of luck!”

 

“Yeah. Interesting how things have a way of working themselves out.” Since we had both established that there was something between us, the connection steadily grew stronger and stronger. I walked closer to Jonny, breathing in his clean scent. I wasn't afraid to be bold anymore.

 

“Then it wouldn't be weird if I did this?” I reached out and gently ran my fingers through his hair, pushing it back behind his ear.

 

“No, it's not weird.” I placed my entire hand against his jawline, then did the same with my other hand. Pulling him as close as possible, I opened my mouth and locked my lips with his. It felt right. Tingling sensations shot throughout my entire body as I pulled away from Jonny. He wasn't satisfied, though.

 

Roughly grabbing my hips, he thrust his tongue into my mouth, then proceeded to run his hands up and down my back. I slid my hands down his neck and torso and rested them on his chest. Our mouths and tongues infused into one, and after a bit I pushed him away. At first, he had a confused and hurt look on his face, then he realised what I was doing. There was an armchair in the corner of the room, and I continued to push him backwards until we reached it.

 

As he collapsed into the seat, I leaned forward, slowly resting my knees on the empty spaces of cushion on either side of him. He tightly grabbed the backs of my thighs as I straddled him. For the next hour we just stayed there, running our hands exploringly all over each other's bodies and kissing each other's mouths, necks, cheeks, ears, jaws, and I think even noses got in there at one point.

 

It was fucking awesome.
