Previously, On Mama: Chris says something about never in a million years being caught for trespassing.

 

 

 

“I can’t believe we got caught trespassing.” I muttered, kicking at some leaves on the sidewalk. Jonny had silently crossed his arms and now refused to talk to anyone. Guy was sitting on the stairs, lost in his own little Guy’s hangover-world.

 

“I told you this would happen.” said Jonny, sticking his foot out to stop me from pacing.

 

“Okay, okay. I’m sorry.”

 

“Yeah, Jonny. Sorry.” agreed the bassist, shrugging. “I can’t believe we got kicked out of there with nothing to help us get you out of danger.”

 

“I think we should call Will again.” I suggested. “What’s the worst that could happen?”

 

“I guess you’re right.” said Jonny, pulling out his cell phone. A few moments later, he was connected. “Hi, Will? It’s Jonny again. We really need you, man. What? No, Chris hasn’t swallowed the scented marbles again.”

 

“I thought they were candy!”

 

“What? Yeah, it’s about the ghost. I know they don’t, but can you just meet us at my place? Please? Please? Please? Okay then, see you in ten.”

 

“Well?” asked Guy, looking at Jonny expectantly. “Is he coming?”

 

“Yeah, but he didn’t sound too happy about it. He was supposed to go out with Marianne.”

 

“Uh-oh.” I murmured. “That’s not good. He’s bound to be really pissed off at us.”

 

“Well?” snapped Will, who was leaning against a tree outside Jonny’s house. We had just arrived, and it seemed as if my prediction had been correct. Will really didn’t look happy to see us. In fact, he looked as if he wanted to rip us to shreds and boil our insides.

 

“Hi, Will.” I said cheerily, waving. Will flashed me his death glare and I shrank back.

 

“So, this ghost thing.” he said, turning to Jonny.

 

“Well, Mama was my grandma. Who’s dead now. But they,” Jonny pointed to Guy and me, “…Thought they saw her in Chris’s car. So they came over to my place to tell me that I was in danger.”

 

“What kind of danger?”

 

“Bad danger.” suggested Guy. I smacked him on the arm.

 

“Really bad danger?”

 

“Oh, shut up.”

 

“Hey, Guy, what’s that?” asked Will suddenly, pointing to Guy’s chest.

 

“Why, I guess that’s where my right nipple is…”

 

“No. The thing sticking out of your coat.” corrected Will, his jaw clenching.

 

“OH!” Guy pulled the old newspaper out from his in-coat pocket. “It’s just an old newspaper I found. I decided to keep it in case I need it. For something.” I plucked the paper from his hands, intending to find the comics. Instead, I saw the word ‘Mama’ on the front page.

 

“Holy shit!” I cried, pulling the paper open completely. The headline read ‘Mama Mia is a Hit’, but I knew it had to be a sign. “Look guys, Mama is in the paper!” I said, holding it out to them. Will took it from me and frowned.

 

“Chris, I really don’t think…” began Jonny.

 

“Hang on, maybe he’s right!” said Guy.

 

“You’re all fucking insane.” muttered Will.

 

“Here, what’s that below it?”

 

“ ‘Group of two hundred die in fiery plane crash’.” I looked up at Jonny, and he stared back at me with a nervous expression on his face. “What is it, Jon?”

 

“Umm…I may have been planning on flying.”
