in case you've forgotten what's happened- Part 4.

How Infinite is Space?

Part 5

OH! warning- an F-bomb is dropped in this particular section. :shocked3: SCANDAL!

"Are we almost done with the testing? My arms are starting to hurt!" Chris was standing on a platform in the middle of the lab with both his arms raised up in the air. Retaw was standing on the other side of the glass panel between them, reading the text that had appeared on the panel.

"If you'd like, you may lower your arms now, but you still need to remain standing." Chris lowered his arms, and as soon as he did more text appeared on the glass. Retaw took what looked like Saran wrap and pressed it up against the panel. When he removed the sheet the text came with it.

"Whoa, man, that's freaking awesome! How'd you do that?" Retaw laughed at Chris' amazement as he put the wrap down on a table that was next to him.

"I informed you before, Chris Martin. Our technology is far more advanced. And actually, that is outdated technology." He pressed a button that was on the wall next to the table, and a doorway appeared on the glass panel. "We're done with the testing now. You may exit the testing area."

Chris walked off of the platform and back to the corner of the lab where his pants were. He put his trousers back on, then turned and walked over to Retaw.

"So, how'd I do, Retaw?"

"We are still processing the information, Chris Martin. If you would kindly wait out in the hallway, the results should be ready in a few minutes."

"Oh, ok. Will do." Chris walked out of the lab and into the hallway. He sat down opposite the lab door and waited. After about five minutes, he stood up again and began to pace the floor. He even started to sing.

"Oh, god. Are you singing again? Hasn't anyone told you that you do that too much?" Chris looked up to see Jonny walking towards him.

"Jonny! Wait, why are you here?"

"Eh, I got bored. Those aliens didn't seem to care that I left. How'd the testing thing go?"

"I don't know yet. Retaw said the results would be done in a few minutes, but it's been at least half an hour." As soon as the last word exited Chris' mouth, the door opened and Retaw popped his head out.

"OK, you can come back in now. You can come too, Jonny."

"So, how'd I do, Retaw?" Chris asked as he and Jonny walked back into the lab.

"All the tests went very well, Chris Martin. But..." Retaw had a confused look on his face. "What are these "Hills"? They appear to control most of your thoughts."

"Oh. That's, uh... that's nothing, really. Forget about it." A smile began to form on Jonny's face.

"Surely, they must be something, Chris Martin. Fifty-eight percent of your thoughts have to do with them."

"Just, please, stop. Please. Just leave it alone."

"Is it... um," Retaw lowered his voice, "...pornography?"

"No, it's not."

"Because if it is, then that's perfectly normal. In fact-"

"NO, IT IS NOT FUCKING PORNOGRAPHY!! IT'S A TEEN DRAMA TELEVISION SERIES IN AMERICA AND I HAPPEN TO LOVE IT TO PIECES!! Damn it!" Jonny burst out laughing, and Chris turned to him with a frightfully angry expression.

"Sorry, mate, but The Hills? That's freaking hilarious!"

"No, it's not."

"Um, there's something else consuming your mind as well. The other forty-two percent. But maybe I shouldn't discuss it here in front of the... present company." Retaw nodded to Jonny, who suddenly looked very confused.

"What? Me?"

"No, Jon, the door. The door can't hear it."

"Piss off, Chris. Why can't I hear it? What's wrong with me?"

"I'm not sure that Chris Martin would like for me to reveal such embarrassing, personal information." A sudden wave of fear came over Chris. He knew exactly what Retaw was talking about, and he sure didn't want Jonny to find out.

"More embarrassing than The Hills?"

"Yes. Please don't tell him."

"Right. I'm very sorry about before, Chris Martin. I didn't mean to upset you. All the tests went very well, and you're perfect for our mission."

"Eh, it's all good. What's the mission?"

"Save our world."

"Oh. Well, that should be fun."

I love how you slipped the number 42 in there like we wouldn't notice. I see all :sneaky:

"Oh. Well, that should be fun."

Can't wait to see how that turns out, our fate in Chris' hands? :stunned:

Something Worth Fighting For

Chapter three

Chris’ POV

A sharp pain jerked through my body when I hit the ground. There were little stars in my view, because my head hit something metal beneath me, too. Fuck, now I’d gonna die, I just knew it.

I was standing on the railway track and the freight train finally hit me.

“Ugh!” was the only thing I was able to say, because Will was still strangling me.

“You little bastard, you thought I would forgot, eh? That stupid bloke would forgive you for your stupidity, right!? Fuckin’ no!” he spat into my face, I felt his saliva bombarding my skin like little spears.

His whole body was pinning me to the rusty ground. There was already some dirt in my eyes, they were getting all teary and I could see even less than before.

Fuck, what now? Think Chris, think! The oxygen inside you is getting rare, soon enough you’ll be dead, for sure. If Will’s intention is to kill you, he will, you know it.

I grabbed his cramped hands, trying to pull them away.

No chance. They were like steel gloves. They only got tighter around my throat, which was already burning like fire.

I used my knees, trying to kick Will in his nuts. Yeah I know, it’s pathetic, but damn, what should I do?

“Fff-uck!” was the next thing I could hear, and thank god those brutal hands suddenly slid of my throat, which looked probably rather swollen and red by now.

Okay so I managed to kick him in his privates, what now? He got presumably even angrier. I quickly stood up and stumbled to the next wall, looking for some stuff to arm myself.

“You’re not going to leave that building alive Chris.” he said in a surprisingly calm voice, which sounded also frighteningly convincing.

That mad man was already up to his feet again, standing there like a balefully knight.

“Jesus, Will, please, isn’t there any other way we can end this shit? It won’t make your life any better if you kill me!” There had to be a way to bring back the normal Will.

“It seems like you don’t know… or don’t understand what I went through. You probably think I should just calm down and chill, drink a cup of tea and relax, think of better times, go on and live a beautiful life, be happy and have awesome friends…”

It was already getting dark outside, and the huge windows in this building formed huge scary shadows all over the place, one directly on Will, making him even more viciously looking, “… who fucking killed your everything

I stepped backwards, pressed my back against the cold wall. I was hiding a pipe I grabbed before behind myself, with intent to use it if I had to.

Then everything happened like in some kind of a dream… or should I say nightmare?

Will started to run towards me, his hands cramped to fists, hungry for blood. His face in shadows, the area around his eyes in crinkles of pure wrath and everything combined he was going to vent it on me.

I started running, too. I knew if I’d just stand there I would be even more vulnerable. Now I was lifting up the old pipe I was holding in my right hand and yelled of fear and anger at the same time. Not even that changed a wee bit of Will’s face expression, he just kept sprinting towards me.

I was about to haul the pipe right into his head when I heard a shout, stricken with fear, from behind the locked door. Only a hundredth of a second I looked into the wrong direction, seeing Guy and Jonny hammering against the door, both looking shocked and confused, don’t know how to react to that strange situation.

It was that one hundredth of a second that was going to change my whole life.

this is SO good!!!!!!!!!!!! :clap::clap:

I gotta know what happens next!!!!!

One I Love, Chapter IV

Guy's eyes widened as soon as he saw Arlene.

"Uh, what's going on Guy?" she asked, trying not to make eye contact with him.

"You overheard what I said to the guys, didn't you?" he asked, rubbing the nape of his neck with his hand and ruffling his hair.

"What, about us being friends? Why would I be concerned about what you said? We are friends, Guy. At least, I think we are."

"We are, but...god, I don't know Arlene. Is it so wrong for me to have other feelings for you? Feelings that fall under the dating category?"

"It's not wrong, Guy. You just made it sound like if it was such a horrible thing to have feelings for me. You're not the only one who's confused."

"When I was smiling...you know, while we gave the paps their photo ops, I meant it. It felt really great being embraced by you, Arlene."

"Yeah, well, it felt nice seeing you smile like that. I haven’t seen you smile like that in awhile, only when Nico is in your presence. I’m glad I helped put that smile on your face.”

Guy couldn’t help but smile again.

“Look, Arlene, I like you, okay?”

“Yeah, well the feeling’s mutual, Berryman. I think I started feeling something ever since we played Connect Four at the Grammys.”

“Get something nice on and meet me in the lobby in half an hour. We’re going out.” He walked away from a totally love struck Arlene who quickly went in her room, showered, let her hair loose and natural and put on a pretty red sundress that she’d brought along. On went a pair of beige heels and she was ready with five minutes to spare. She took the elevator down to the lobby, where Guy was waiting for her in an all black tailored suit and sunglasses.

“So, you look nice. Are you ready to go?” he asked.

“Yeah, I am. Let’s go.”

Guy had gotten a car service to take them to the ‘C Restaurant,’ which Guy said was a very popular fish place in Perth that also had a reputation for a posh bar, a popular high tea and very expensive prices. It was crowded, but the hostess had noticed who he was and had the two seated within ten minutes.

“Nice job, Berryman,” she said, as he led her by the hand while following the hostess.

“Hey, there are some benefits to being in a very hard soft rock band, Arlene. But you know I don’t really use this to my advantage all the time.”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah.” They were seated and Guy ordered a bottle of wine when their waitress came by.

“So, I’m really sorry about earlier,” he said.

“I know.”

“Yeah?”

“Guy, your eyes are so genuine and truthful. I know when you’re being sincere and that’s usually always because you’re just such a sincere guy. Now, let’s look at the menu first and then we’ll discuss this more.” They perused it and ordered from the dinner and dessert menu…at a whopping $69 per person. Arlene raised her eyes at the price tag, but he waved it off. Guy ordered the char grilled beef tenderloin; Arlene, the west Australian market fish. After their waitress brought the guaranteed garden salad, they continued their conversation.

“We’ve made it clear, Arlene. We both do like each other.”

“Yeah, we do. Now, are we going to do something about it? Or should we just not worry about it, ignore our feelings for each other and stay friends?”

“I want to keep doing this. I want to see if this is going to evolve into something more…which I have a feeling will, Arlene. What about you? Do you want to date and see where this all goes?”

She stared straight into his chocolate colored eyes. Again, like earlier, they showed sincerity. She reached across the table and took his hand.

“Yes, Guy, I want to. I’m in; I’m all in.”

After a delicious dinner and a fantastic dessert of apricot panicotta and chilled banana soufflé, they went walking back to their hotel to burn off the meal. No one recognized the man behind the glasses and Arlene loved that because it meant the public eye could leave them alone and perhaps not spread rumors about them. When they got back, Guy walked Arlene to her room.

“So, uh, is this where I get to kiss you goodnight?”

“Only if you want to, G-” He had bent down and finally got to taste what he’d been desiring the past couple of months. Guy caught Arlene off guard, but she didn’t mind.

“I’ll see you tomorrow, bright and early?” he asked.

“Yes, you most definitely will. Goodnight, Guy.”

“Goodnight, Arlene.” He waited for her to go into her room and went back to his room with Chris, whom was peeping out of the door. Jonny and Will were there too; all three of them wondering what had happened.

“I thought Arlene wasn’t your girlfriend!” exclaimed Chris while Guy shook off his surprise at all three of the Coldplay boys in his room.

“Mate, c’mon! You’ve got to make up your mind,” said Jonny.

“Hey, guess what. She is my girlfriend. So you all can stop stalking us, okay? We went out and I had a really nice time, as did she. Now, Jonny, go back with Chloe and Violet; Will, go back with Marianne and your own offspring. I’m tired and I want some sleep.” Jonny and Will said their goodbyes and left Guy alone with Chris.

“Don’t you have anything better to do than pry into my own love life?” asked Guy.

“Actually, no. I don’t. I just talked to Gwyn and said good night to the kids and well, I’ve listened to too much of the Wiggles for my own good. So I thought this would be more fun.” Guy rolled his eyes, got undressed and shut out the light. In bed, he couldn’t help think about tomorrow, for he’d be setting eyes on Arlene.

Aw, I really love this story!! :D:D:heart:

Can't wait for the next part!

Ok here goes my first attempt at a fanfic :uhoh:......

My Golden Opportunity

Chapter 1

“Look at that one!” Chase said smiling. “I see,” I replied back smiling also. Its amazing how much little kids love to feed ducks. We’ve been here a half hour already, but Chase loved it and I didn’t mind. “More food Aunt Stephanie?” he begged. I gave him what was left of the bread we brought. He threw a handful of crumpled up pieces into a group of nearby ducks. A loud, obnoxious cell phone ring disrupted the peaceful moment I was having with my nephew.

I turned around to see a woman and a man walking hand in hand. The woman reached inside her purse to grab her cell phone. She took a few steps away and began what seemed like a serious conversation. She had beautiful dark brown, wavy hair with bangs, was tan and tall. He had gorgeous, dirty blonde hair that was beginning to get long. You could see the most adorable little curls starting to form. And he had without a doubt the most amazing blue eyes I’ve ever seen in my life. He was absolutely stunning. I quickly looked away to not seem rude.

Next thing I know I hear footsteps coming towards me and then all of the sudden he’s standing right next to me.

“Hi,” He says smiling an incredible smile. Think Stephanie I kept repeating in my mind! Think dammit! Words.

“Hi,” I managed with a smile of my own. Those dazzling blue eyes kept starring at me. I put my gaze on Chase as a distraction. He smiled when he looked at my nephew having the time of his life feeding ducks in Central Park.

“I’m Chris.” He said with a charming British Accent.

“Stephanie, that’s Chase.” I returned. At the sound of his name Chase came running over smiling. “Hey buddy,” Chris said to Chase, “I’m Chris.” Then they shook hands. “Wanna feed the ducks?” Chase asked excited. “Absolutely!” Chris answered looking honestly thrilled, “Come on, Stephanie!” We fed the ducks for a couple minutes, all of us loving it.

“So………..”Chris began awkwardly, “is he……yours?” he finished, looking away. My heart skipped a beat. “Chase? Oh no! No no no no no. He’s my nephew. My sister’s kid.” I surprised myself by answering in full sentences. “That’s wonderful,” he returned with a big smile on his face. Shit, was he flirting?! But isn’t that his…

“Chris! Are you ready to go?” A woman’s voice asked. She smiled politely at me, but I didn’t get a vibe that she really meant it.

“Yeah. I’m coming Makayla. Nice to meet you Stephanie,” he said with that big smile again, “Thanks for letting me feed ducks with you,” he said to Chase tousling Chase’s hair. He turned to me, “Hopefully I’ll see you around again.”

“That’d be great. It was great meeting you! You were great with Chase.” God how many times could I use great? “Bye Stephanie.” He said before walking back to the woman who immediately took his hand in hers. They continued their walk.

“He was fun. I liked him.” Chase said.

“Me too.... Me too….”

My Golden Opportunity

Chapter 2

Chris PoV

I had been coming back to this exact spot every day for a week. And then walked around to find other ponds with ducks. At different times during the day. I still saw no sign of her. Or Chase. God, was I this pathetic? Makayla was great. Really, she was. Its just…..after that day with Stephanie….I don’t know. Makayla just didn’t seem appealing anymore. I can’t figure out why. It feels like she can’t even compare with Stephanie. But I don’t even know Stephanie. I spent what? 15 minutes with her? 20 tops. Yet, I feel like I already know her. Ugh, this is so confusing. I really have no idea what I’m doing here looking for her. Or thinking about her. But I don’t want to stop.

So I did what I always do when I have this feeling of confusion: went straight back to my apartment. I already felt a song coming on.

Its really short :P

short, yes. but it's really good!

thanks brooke :D

I would like everyone to know that I have written a new story over the past week or so, and I will be posting it very soon. It's not romance or anything (sorry Thalia), in fact, it's going back to my specialty: ANGST. Oh yes, friends, angst. :dozey:

I don't want to give too much away. In fact, I won't tell you anything else about it. :P

Well, you know, I love angst as much as romance, so I don't mind at all :wideeyed:
