I have a friend who's 14 years old (we're all 16) and the other day we were talking about Christmas. I was like "Oh, should we not talk about Santa? I mean, you still believe in him right?"

He was all like: :dozey:

^thats not funny mark

Guess again!!

I'm sure Christa will appreciate it, anyway.:smug:

Well anyhow, it twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.. When along came a rap rap rapping, a tap tap tapping, upon the chamber door. In walked a man and 8 tiny deer, ..all dressed in red..

Well, truthfully there lives a Santa within each and every one of us! So who says Santa Doesn't exist? Tis' the spirit of giving, sharing, and surprising that makes the season, and the story, magic.:santa2:

we did a grab bag with that story in like 4th grade. we all drew a gift form the bag, then our teacher read that story. the rule was, every time she said "the", you passed your gift to the right. I ended up with some girly pens and the girl next to me got a mini recorder. I asked to trade and she did, so I got to play songs instead of having girly dolphin pens

The things you remember:laugh3:

OMG ! `Twas the night before Chrismas....my all time favourite story.....

OOOOH , scoopy! (my own word, invented as a child, combo of Scary+Spooky)

I had just recently named Edgar Allen Poe as one of my fave authors to someone....:)

:laugh3:God only knows how the synapses in my brain jumped the tracks there Kels! Yea, SCOOPY! Put perfectly.

..Ed Poe's works are incredible - but he's more of a later winter kinda read to me. I think he had too much eggnog, and the nutmeg got the better of him!!

Anyhow, Santa's really an interesting invention - taking Saint Nickolas and embellishing on the story - really an American twist, and one of the really good innovations we've had in popular culture... But really, Santa is like everyone's Grandpa basically..;)

So true what you've said about Santa. :O that proves that North America origin is European. ;).. :P north european to be more concrete: they "stole" Saint Nickolas, they "stole" Halloween...

And i was just to answer the first post question...
