They would no doubt prefer quite a few people to ignore quite a few others, as it happens, but it doesn't seem very likely to happen, especially while there is intolerance in the air.;)

For example, Simon isn't doing any harm or attacking anyone by organising this "committee", yet people are mocking him for it.

mark, i personally don't think simon's comittee is a great idea but i'm looking to have some fun with it, a rivarly that i plan on making pretty fun if it gets the legs behind it.

I guess that would be Ian. we're aiming for a Happy New Year with a board that everyone can read. lots of sigs are getting too big again and you spend half your time scrolling past sigs instead of being able to read people's posts.

The "ignore" option could obviously take care of most of this, but if everybody was more tolerant in the first place there wouldn't be a need for it.

Plus there are certain people who can't even be put on "ignore", which doesn't really help matters.

i hope this committee does well, to be quite honest. i don't necessarily think it will but i'm not going to intrude on their meetings or anything. i'm not doing anything to stop this committee happening. i'm just having a little bit of fun by making a rivalry.
