I want more stuff like Prospekts March/Poppyfeilds, Now My Feet Wont Touch The Ground, 42, Yes, Glass of Water, and well a few poppy songs like Viva La Vida, Lovers in Japan and Life in Technicolor ii.

 

A continuation of the Viva process will be the best move. Right now they are releasing quality stuff and i want them to continue to. I have faith.

It will be all accordion with the occasional bass solo.

 

 

 

And it will be called FREAKONOMICS (thanks to Yak for that name)

LP 5 Request.

 

I would like More of the Beatle influence ( Sounds, Lyrics and Themes ) that have Worked so Brilliantly on the Last TWO Albums. ( X and Y was vastly underrated and Overlooked. ) Maybe using some Rubber Soul type influence ( The Beatles greatest Album. ) or maybe even a Beatles cover for a B side single. Whatever they're working on , I know Now that I can't wait to hear it . Thank you, Happy Birthday Again Chris !! Joey.

I would like to see a bit of Viva's instrumentation, plus a bit of more experimentation and nice guitar and bass.

This is super exciting, since I wasn't a member of coldplaying before any of the previous albums came out, and I never got to speculate about them. :cheesy: I'm actually hoping for a mix of everything from their previous albums- I know that's highly unlikely, but I'd like a little of the slower X&Y stuff, some of the catchy Viva instrumental melodies, and of course some of the brilliant AROBTTH and Parachutes type songs. And it goes without saying that new experimentation would be awesome. :heart:

 

Edit: I do hope we see some more solo stuff from the others, especially Jonny. As much as I love Chris, I'd really like to hear Will singing a bit more, etc.

Themes For The 5th Album

 

So what do people want to see from Coldplay's next album?? Heavy guitar with a few Jonny Buckland guitar solos and Chris playing rhythm guitar? Will Champion singing a song or two? But what feel do you want from the album? I don't want them to go down the Kid A route as suggested by the poll. I personally would love one that is very spiritual like U2's Joshua Tree (ONE AMAZING ALBUM).

Well I don't think anyone could have predicted how VLOVOD would turn out. I don't think anyone would have known what is was going to be like...it was completely unexpected.

 

 

I think the same will happen with LP5. I don't think it will be anything we can imagine now, they will no doubt surprise us again.

Agreed. I want to hear more solo stuff from Will, Jonny and Guy. I think they all have great voices and I would love to hear a song from each of them :) I don't mind Chris but it would be a nice change-up!

I hope the four explore more unconventional sounds and rythms, and let their musicianship inside them flow all over the music...

What Do YOU Want From Album 5?

 

With work having already started on their next album what do you guys want to see from Coldplay's next album? More aggressive songs, heavy guitar? Chris Martin playing rhythm guitar or maybe even Will Champion singing a song or two from the next album.

 

Personally I would like the next album to be strong on guitar and more of that aggression we saw on 42 or Violet Hill. Either that or going for that spiritual Unforgettable Fire/Joshua Tree style. Either two would be awesome.

 

 

 

Whatever happens, having Brian Eno at the helm again is sure to make it interesting. What themes or direction do you want Coldplay to go for in LP 5?

i rather prefer a 2nd Amsterdam than a 2nd Prospekt's March, but well, i guess they'll follow with the viva sound. chris said in many interviews that X&Y closed a trilogy, so now they might go on with the second trilogy.

a parachutes - AROBTTH - viva - new stuff mix would be a dream came true, but well... :P

and please please, return that piano solo songs by chris (amsterdam, gravity, proof, you know:D)!

Oh that's a tough question because I love all of their albums, even X&Y is much better than a lot of stuff in my collection, so I have a lot of trust in Coldplay... :D

 

If I could choose without thinking a lot I would like to have Parachutes part 2 with some current issues on it. OK that's very unrealistic :rolleyes: and I'm not sure if it would be the best thing.

 

No seriously, some points are important to me:

- Chris' vocals - he should keep on singing a little as low as on VLV, but not all the time

- I would agree that there will be some more heavier guitar riffs, something in the direction of Violet hills but more developed....

- A few songs with only a few instruments...not too much production please

- Melodies should be as good as ever, lyrics could be a little bit better, since AROBTTH they did not improve

- Jonny should make the guitar cry a lot - especially on some very sad songs, I love it :smug:

- Please no more U2 influences or influences of other bands therefor some typical CP hymns

- A collaboration with other stars is also not necessary (especially not the one with Kylie, I do not like her)

- Last but not least: they should surprise us and the world with a great innovative sound, that nobody can say anymore: " Coldplay just covers other people." I hate people saying that.
