I guess I didn't mean this thread, I meant in general how you two just don't get along. Which is fine, it's not my problem, but there are times when you just have to let things go and move on.

I think you'll find things will now sort themselves out one way or another.;)

When the person you are spouting things to tells you to stop because they don't like it, but you don't, it's still abuse regardless of the "trivial" levels of racism

Yeah i have asked many times for the racist jokes to stop....

No more so than if somebody continually pursues petty vendettas against someone by creating threads or groups about them, slandering them or generally being intolerant about their posting style simply because you don't like it.;)

So you're saying since I'm doing something bad, you can do it too? And then you complain about me doing it?

Fact is, you've never told me to stop. If you or anyone in power (Ian, Jen, mods) said to me "Jack, stop the Mark baiting, he doesn't like it and it's offensive" I'd stop.

It's only fun for me up until the point you stop reacting. If you start taking genuine offence to my jokes against you, and say this to me, then my fun is over. You've never said to me that you wanted me to stop. Instead, you've responded to my threads with equal aggression to which you've been exposed because of me.

James, Rick and Briggins haven't done that at all. And the difference is they've asked you to stop. As I understand it, Ian's also had a word in your ear about it too.

So it's about time you stopped defending yourself, admit you're wrong in this case, and shut up with the racist jokes. They're not funny.

And if you want me to stop what I'm doing, stop insulting my friends and tell me straight, instead of just arguing back and then complaining about what I'm doing.

I've said all I wanted to say on the matter, and I have no intention of responding to ludicrous rhetoric delivered by anyone with a vendetta/agenda and who has proven themselves unable to communicate in a civilized manner.

Any issues I might have with other users (or indeed with Ian) have nothing to do

with you whatsoever, irrespective of what relationship you might claim to have with them.

If you want to start a thread every time someone says something you don't like, then fine. I'm sure you'll get bored in the end, and it won't achieve anything except spamming up the board.;)

Interesting theory.

I wonder whether those who complained to the BBC about Clarkson's comments are among those who also complained about Wossy and Brandy re: Sachsgate.

Some people will just complain about everything, probably because they haven't got anything better to do.

However, what I can't understand is how some will say they find the type of stuff JC comes out with deeply offensive, while at the same time completely condoning Russell Brand's behaviour, which could easily be viewed as equally offensive depending on how you look at it.

If everybody was forced to change their act/routine as soon as anyone complained about it, comedy would quickly cease to exist in any shape or form, because at the end of the day, you can find offence in anything if you choose to.

They have acts and routines, you are posting messages personally to others, are you really that dillusional?

I hate this whole 'political correctness gone mad!!11' routine, you cant generalise that every person who complains about something does it because they have no life (If that were true and if it wasnt for this messageboard to fill your hours, you'd probably be contacting the beeb hundreds of times a week!). Truth is that people do get offended, I honestly am beginning to think that you are some kind of pun-operated cyborg that doesnt actually have sensitivity or enough intelligence to take offence.

Personally I dont like turning on the radio to hear two fucking idiots egging eachother on in a pathetic joke about screwing an aged actors grand-daughter, and I was initially glad to see someone get pulled up on one of these jokes, instead of comedians and celebrities having this attitude of themselves as being invincible and omnipotent. But then it got completely out of hand.

I can't say I was offended by it, I know nothing about Sachs and fail to really sympathise with him or his granddaughter, but I do think it contributed to this idea that because it's on television or radio it becomes entertainment, because its a show nobody gets hurt, and the more we embrace that then the more radical and unaccountable entertainment will become.
