I'm not saying that metal is rock per se. I am saying that it is a branch in the rock formula, tree, pyramid, etc. It grew out of what many considered the rock formula. I wouldn't considered old Metallica as rock but metal, but I would consider the new Metallica as more hard rock. I based my favorite ten artists on the rock formula and that is it.

Yes, the Foo Fighters... the awesome offspring of Nirvana... their 2008 Wembley DVD is a rock classic of the current time.

Well yeah i guess that makes more sense.......rock was there before metal,so taking that into consideration,metal has it's roots in rock,going back to the likes of black sabbath etc..

i think we've reached a compromise. now can we get back on topic.
