I think a greatest hits is inevitable, because EMI are money hungry wolves.

Sure, they're great for promoting Coldplay (like, 6 singles per album), but what's with all the re-releases? VLVADAAHF is released for the 3rd time now (including DVD this time around).

I mean, shit.

Surely everybody who calls himself a Coldplay fan will already have all 4 albums by now? Either physically or digitally? What's the point in releasing a greatest hits already? I say, wait another 10 years.

if ever a greatest hits will be released, what an intrude would that be. I woudnt buy that, coz my money will be wasted since the songs there are all in their previous albums w/c I bought. but if there's rare tracks / remixes along with it, well..theres the internet for me. to get them. Or here! why go farther, right?

If they have a "Greatest Hits" album. They won't call it "greatest hits".

They would call it some else that signifies, Parachutes, AROBTTH, X&Y, VLVODAAHF, and LP5 (&6?). They would make it so epic. Because, of course, they are Coldplay. All this talk of the end, makes me so sad, but I have to face the facts, they will stop one day. But their next tour (most likely their last), I AM GOING ALL OUT! TONS OF SHOWS :D

Im doin' it for Coldplay

well 10 years i think it's enough to release such album

hope they'll do it :)

I hate Greatest Hits albums, I like normal albums by artists, but its a good way to get people who don't know them a chance to get a background of Coldplay.

but if they put in the greatest hits just the hit singles, probably most of the people will already know them. I mean, I think everyone who knows Viva la Vida heard before Clocks, or Yellow...the only way to make it more interesting for Coldplay prophanes is putting in some least known tracks-or bsides, or extras for the hard core fans! =D

well u2 never did 'greatest hits' they did 'best of...' which is a fine distinction, as the latter implies the inclusion of fan favorites, bands favorites, nonsingles and even b-sides like with radiohead. So a coldplay release, if they actually go ahead with something like that would definitely include politik, maybe everything's not lost, bigger stronger etc. along with the obvious.
