well i don't use to like female voices too, but i'm not saying we can't sing, most mainstream artist actually don't sing, no matter if they are male or female.

 

i reckon there are some good powerful woman voices out there, but not as many as male ones.

 

or may be is simply that i don't like the pitch of womans voice (that is know than male and female have different tones of voice :thinking: )

I have to say it depends on the genre of music.

 

I don't like women rapping for example.

But for lounge / jazzy / soul music I think I like more female singers.

 

So I can't decide in the poll.

 

I know it's hard with all the genres but in the general wide rock genre The Gossip probably is the only exception I listen to where a woman is singing... :thinking:

But I'm sure that if I'd open my music folder I'd find more.

So I answered this question quite a while ago. I said both. And I still stand by that. I know there has been discussion on this forum about how 2009 was not as strong as 2008 album wise. Maybe. But I think that this year that female vocalists have really ruled the year. This is all personal opinion, but look at my longlist for album of the year for 2009.
