I'm going to this stupid wedding soon. ... I'm not even really friends with this person...... The truth is that I don't like formal events. .......... I just want to sign a piece of paper and be done with it.

I think people should have divorces like weddings. You know, you want people to know it's happening, right?

I generally don't like formal events either. Weddings are generally pretty tedious affairs.:dozey:

I think some people should have their divorce like their wedding, because some people only marry because of the event and nothing else...(like Boris Becker today...:wacky:)

this is my wedding song.

why are you so bitter about it?

i think weddings are so much fun and it's a beautiful thing when two people decide to get married (regardless of your own opinion about how long they're gonna last).

i usually get all emotional at weddings and cry and i love being involved in the process, such as, being a bridesmaid. :P

I actually kind like them too, when I'm close with the person getting married.

The last one I went to was for my cousin, which was actually really sweet. The reception was held in what used to be an grand old theatre but is now just used for formal events like this. But they had a romance-movies theme going on which I thought was adorable.

But yeah, the divorce celebration thing sounds pretty fun too. I mean, why not?

All I know is that when a marriage only lasts six months or so, all the guests should be entitled to the return of their wedding gifts.:dozey:

I think it depends of the kind of wedding, I mean... I wouldn't like a big party, but I'd love a little lovely party with the family and best friends

but big weddings of people you don't really care that much about are kind of boring :P

^ I agree, especially when the majority of the people in attendance are ages and ages older than you. Then you're just bored but have to look pretty for photos :(

yep, the last wedding i attened was my cousin's, too.

they actually booked a camera team to catch every moment from the bachelor/ette's party to the reception. it was crazy.

i remember that one guy who filmed me at about 8 in the morning on the day of the wedding. argh. :dozey:

however, they also put together nice films and showed them at the reception. quite sentimental, very nice.

If people do get married it should be a small, private affair involving just close family members and a few best friends, as the wedding day itself is insignificant in the grand scheme of things.;)

^ i know, but i still want a biiiiig wedding.

but i wouldn't invite anyone just for the sake of it.

i'd be careful with picking guests.

8 in the morning? That is some intense documentary lol.

My cousin did a similar thing where they had the photographer snap shots all throughout the ceremony till the reception, and put together a quick slideslow at the end.

The photos were soo beautiful though..... the day I get married in a decade from now haha, I'll book him:P

Depends how it's done. It isn't good when people are captured on film coughing, sneezing or blowing their noses (I've actually seen a video like this)!

And very young children should be banned from weddings as they only start screaming, crying or getting under everyone's fee.:dozey:

T'is true.

There's ALWAYS a baby crying during the ceremony. It's like part of the package.

Well it shouldn't be. It ruins it. There's absolutely no reason for babies to be there.

They don't have a clue what's going on..........................

hehe, yeah they did the films they showed at the reception, too, and they were pretty cool.

i want a camera team doing that for me, too. :laugh3:

i hope they cut me out when i was lying on the couch watching tv and he was in my face,"excited?" all i could do was grin like an idiot and reply,"err..."

oh, and of course there also had to be a diashow. it focussed on friends & family, though, and they showed old, old, old pictures of everyone. i didn't know i looked that horrible back in '98. :inquisitive:

Well it's the parents that are too lazy to look up a babysitter and bring them there.

And so they cry.

And so everyone goes "Aww.." but it's a little awkward.

And so in reality, the bride wishes the baby would shut up because her man's vows are being interrupted.

That's how I saw it :uhoh:

^ i never thought about it that way. :\

there should be a note on the invitation,"please do not bring your babies, otherwise you will be expelled from the ceremony."

If I remember rightly my sister "banned" babies and toddlers from her wedding for that very reason, and the wedding was much better for it.;)

There's nothing worse than being at a wedding reception and having little kids running around the dancefloor and fighting. It's tacky and completely unnecessary.

I'll have go to a wedding in August. I don't actually know the people so I guess it's gonna be quite awkward. The only thing I'm looking forward to is picking the dress.
