Does the author of a thread determine whether you read it or not?

Does the author of a thread determine whether you read it or not?

For me it definitely does.

For example if Mark starts a thread called "you've gotta hear this" or if Jack or Nathan ever start a thread I have to check it out because it is guaranteed to be filled with entertainment and little quips.

And if its started by (generic coldplay song spelt wrong with an x,o,or luv) I will refuse to read it.

For me, sometimes.

Besides the author, it depends on the title, how much bored I am and, when I have a first look, what are people talking about in it.

It mostly depends on the title and the forum it's in.

Since this was a Briggins thread, I read it OF COURSE!!

THIS.

I just knew it wouldn't be a total waste of my time

But " I Just Want Other People to Make An 1000 Page Thread For Me and Then I'll Claim it's Mine Because I Originally Posted It Thread'' is such a great title. :wacky:

on your own theory then only people that appreciate you, will answer that thread briggs :uhoh.

back on topic.

i do check who the thread opener is first, sure, but what makes me more interested in reading or not reading a new thread is the thread title itself.

yes. and whether or not people are being total jackasses in the thread or only partway

yeah, i base my decision on the title and what i associat it with in case it's rather awkward.

if it's an awkward title, but a thread made by someone who usually posts serious stuff, i'll read it.

if it's an awkward title, but made by some douchy member, i won't.

who are known as the douchy members?

me.

Habitually I don't look at the author, but the thread title often says all about the author

I am a douche

I am a troll

What the hell am i doing here?

I don't belong here

*kills himself*

well, i deliberately haven't named any members.

but i guess not everyone likes everyone.

Why would you even want to like everyone?

I agree with Briggins' point, I have ignored a lot of threads on many forums for that very reason, but there is the odd exception.

Also, I'm honoured that I am in the golden circle of thread makers with Jack and Mark.

Well, these days i only check threads that are created by people i know/like. If i'm insanely bored i might check some other threads too but they're usually just full of shite
