Does the author of a thread determine whether you read it or not?

Featured Replies

i pretty much read every new thread once...well hmm not really. it does kinda depend on the author.

Sometimes a different author makes me want to read it more though i guess.

I do this alot, some days I won't even read any threads in the lounge cos they're all made by the same boring person which bugs me. :(

i don't think so ... it's the title of the thread for me!

I read it if it is serious or by one of my friends. Its kind of like two clashing interests so I end up reading them all anyway.

And if its started by (generic coldplay song spelt wrong with an x,o,or luv) I will refuse to read it.

THISSSSSSSSSSSS.

It depends on the title, usually. If the title is stupid or boring or whatever, I'll still read it if it's made by somebody interesting to me.

edit:

I never read the friends threads.

But " I Just Want Other People to Make An 1000 Page Thread For Me and Then I'll Claim it's Mine Because I Originally Posted It Thread'' is such a great title. :wacky:

that's because i came up with it. :wacky:

I love how Paul has 6 000 posts (mostly in the lounge) yet we have never talked to each other.

I put my mouse over the title first, to read the first bit of the first post.

But yes, there's some threads I don't even bother clicking on because of the author, but I won't name who those authors might be.

^ahahaha yeah. the mouse over the title is definitely the first litmus test of whether to read it or not.

yes, I usually see read the threads of the people who I know that make good threads or that are my "friends"... or pals or whatever

For me it depends on how bored/stupid/curious that day. If the title sounds stupid then most definitely I will open it just out of curiosity. But, the author really doesn't matter to me. :D

Hi.

Oh i just realised i had you on ignore.

I'm too miserable for your ignore.

Does the author of a thread determine whether you read it or not?

For me it definitely does.

For example if Mark starts a thread called "you've gotta hear this" or if Jack or Nathan ever start a thread I have to check it out because it is guaranteed to be filled with entertainment and little quips.

And if its started by (generic coldplay song spelt wrong with an x,o,or luv) I will refuse to read it.

it does! usually I just read threads created by my friends and another people that I consider interesting

I don't really check threads created by people I don't know except when the title is interesting, I have to look for spam or a post is reported :P

also it depends of the section, for example I don't check the news section because almost all the news are stupid ones, in the WoM section I just check threads of bands that I like or new music recommendations, etc

and in the coldplay section I like to skip certain threads because of the content :P but I usually read the ones that include news (usually posted by Ian, Jen or Mimi)

Well, I read this one 'cuz it was a Briggs thread, so ye.
