In standard tuning the verse is: Dm-Bb-F-C/F

The chorus: Bb-F- C/F (bass stays on F), then the second time it holds on C

In between bit: F-Bb-F-F

After the in between bit is the outro chord sequence: Dm-Bb-F-F

If you need other help just PM me

I learned it by ear, that's how I learnt most of the stuff I know how to play.

I learned it by ear' date=' that's how I learnt most of the stuff I know how to play.[/quote']

But now that you try explaining how to play it... :/

Its tough if you ever wanna jam with anyone to not have any knowledge of chords or notes... but thats cool you can learn by ear :)

Piano version of The Scientist?

Does a version exist where he plays solo just on the piano?

The solo of the scientist (i assume u mean at the beginning) just is a A chord for 1 measure then to an A sharp chord for 1 measure. Back down to an A chord for 1 measure then you play an A chord but switch the F to a D. The A chord has A, D, F, A. Then the A sharp is the same thing except the A's becom A sharps. Then you play back to an A chord but make the F into a D. Also, inbetween teh second and thrid measure you play a quick C note an octive higher. I havent found music on it me and a friend just figured it out. With the left hand, you can pretty much improvise. I can make it exactly like the real song though. Just pretty much with your left hand follow your right hand with teh chords. U can Im me if u dont get it or whatever... iprobably didnt explain it very well (NYCBaller20) aim adress

Remember the sheet music can be found on this site http://www.geocities.com/fizzy24121987/

It looks complicated but it's really really easy once you learn it. You'll smack yourself for going through all the trouble finding the sheet music lol.

thank you extremely very much!!! x :)

Here's The Scientist in letters, in case anyone didn't know.

Okay.

Right hand: (c,d,f,a)x4 (d,f,a#)x4 And then the transition middle C, then (c,f,a)x4, and finally (c,f,g)

LEFT HAND: (f,a (supposed to be d,a, but sounds better)), (f,a#), (f,a), (f,g).

And this is thanks to the guy in Coldplace, shanecroft, who gave me the letters.

Hmmm, that's a good way, but the easier way, and (in my opinion) better way, is to just use the root note of the chord you are playing.

For example: (c,d,f,a) x4 is a d minor chord, and its best to use a low D for the left hand.

So, changes that I have for the left hand are: D, then Bb, then keep going with F until you go back to D.

Trust me, it works better that way, especially if you have a guitar and bass player with you. I used both different ways on stage and the one i just wrote works better.

Scientist Piano Chords

Ok i know the basic chords for The Scientist, but being too lazy to buy the music for AROBTTH, what else does Chris play along with the basic riff of Dm7 (4), Bb (4), F (4), Fsus2 (3), and then something else.

Also, when listening to it, between the main chords he hits i think the lower notes again, on the upbeat.. what does he actually play?

Thanks

Just change the F's to E's and you have your chord.

correct the scientist sheet music

Somewhere in the forums I found sheet music to The Scientist, but it's not what I'm looking for. It uses the treble staff for the vocals (and both the melody and the lyrics are slightly wrong, but that's not the point). I'm looking for the actual song that he plays (where the choord progression is in both the treble and bass staffs). I hate to sound picky, but does anyone know how Chris really plays the song (either live or in the studio version)? I've tried listening and I've come close, but I'm not good at this kind of thing.

I can try to make up some sheet music for you, but he plays with these keys:

Right hand - (C,D,F,A) x4 -- (D,F,A#) x4 and you quickly bounce your pinky on High C for an eighth note -- (C,F,A) x4 -- (C,F,G) x4

and for the left hand {the way chris plays it is his left hand plays twice as fast as his right, but it sounds decent with it all played the same}

Left hand (played an octave lower than the right) - (D,A) x4 -- (F,A#) x4 -- (F,A) x2 -- (F,G) x2

I'll try to draw up some sheet music later for you
