iPhone and ipod Touch OS 3.0 Upgrade.

Featured Replies

Has anyone upgraded either their ipod or iphone software to 3.0?

I upgraded mine just now,and i learnt the ipod touch always had bluetooth built in,but it was deactivated by apple,so i had to pay $13.99 for the new software, bluetooth is the major new feature, however there are a number of other small ones, like a voice recorder, extra controls when playing back songs, podcasts and audiobooks. Also a bigger keyboard on the screen.

Just thought to make a thread,in case some people didn't know about it.

So you have the 1stGen ipod touch??

Definitely worth getting the new one,as you cannot upgrade to 3.0 with the first gen ipod touch.

I don't have an ipod.. I have an ipone... and my bluethoot works...

Oh you :snobby:

I aint rich enough to afford an iphone.

I love the new iPhone 3GS, its much faster.

Oh you have one too? :jealous:

I updated 3.0 and I must say, it wasn't as good as I thought it'd be. But, I still think Apple did a great job.

it was rather cheeky of them to charge for it.

I was thinking about upgrading my iPod Touch, but I figured it's not really worth it since the only time I use wireless is when I go to my Grandma's house. I don't have wireless at home.

but there are other new features as well.

I know, but most of the features are for wireless. The other stuff doesn't seem to be worth the price.

oh, i didn't know that! guess it's a good thing i sold off my 1st Gen iPod touch when i did last month then.

tho i recently got an iPhone 3G instead from a rather generous parent, i.e. mum paid for 50% of the cost & it's currently being used by dad until he gets bored of it.

the shop i got it from did the upgrade & all for me too. i have yet to make use of Cydia to get stuff off it...but knowing me, it's just a matter of time.

else so far so good & am quite happy with it...& it helps heaps that i'm on a monthly unlimited data plan already. :P

else i cringe to think what my phone bill would look like with the reliance of just about 90% of the apps on a 3G/Internet connection...

my major snag will be the warranty as i will be in UK for at least 1yr soon & the iPhone's warranty is only valid in Singapore, where i got it. :(

Neither am I.. I got it for xmas and my birthday...but I have the old version with the silver back... This one..

How is the camera?

Just wondering,i aint gonna buy one.

The camera it's fine.. It doesn't have zoom in.. It doesn't have brightness so if you take pictures at night or in a dark room..it won't show at all. You have to take the pictures very still because they tend to come out blury...

Oh okay,i wonder how the new iphone 3GS performs.

Haha you have a 10 pound phone??

When was it made? 89?

Phones from 1989 ran into hundreds of pounds :P

Hey it's a phone, which does what a phone should do and make calls, receive calls, have a calender and SMS function. Also it's more secure than the internet phones as more malware written for smartphones are around ready to strike into the unprotected.
