A 16-year-old boy will appear in court today after he was charged in connection with a bleach attack on a woman who asked a group of youths to be quiet in a cinema.

The 46-year-old woman was attacked in a restaurant in Leeds after an incident at a screening of a Harry Potter film in the city on Sunday, July 26.

West Yorkshire Police said the youth was charged with wounding with intent to commit grievous bodily harm and will appear before magistrates in the city later.

The woman, who does not want to be named, told how she was followed by the group after the film which she saw with her husband and two children.

The family had been dining in a nearby Frankie & Benny’s restaurant when the bleach was thrown over her head by two youths who followed them inside.

The mother was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment and later released.

She told the Yorkshire Evening Post: 'It burned straight away. I began to scream.'

She added that her sight had been affected by the bleach and she didn't know if she suffered permanent damage in the attack.

'My vision keeps going blurred,' she said.

The woman's husband added they were a normal family who did not cause trouble.

Detective Inspector Richard Baildon, of North West Leeds Division, said: ‘This was a completely unwarranted attack on a mother out with her family, the consequences of which could have been much worse.

‘It was a deliberate act, designed to cause pain and injury, and it was totally unprovoked and unnecessary. We are determined to trace those responsible.’

Police described one of the attackers as a light-skinned, mixed-race man, about 19, 6ft tall and of athletic build.

He had short, dark brown hair and was wearing a black, short-sleeved T-shirt and black bottoms.

The second attacker was described as Asian, around 14, about 5ft 4in and fat. He was wearing black clothing.

The driver of the car, possibly a white or silver five-door hatchback with tinted rear windows, was white, 17 to 18, of a wiry build with light-coloured, crew-cut hair.

Another member of the group was a black girl, aged around 14, about 5ft 2in, thin and with her hair tied back in a braid.

I went to see it on Imax and I cannot believe it was only the beginning where it is 3D! Seriously...couldn't they have added that on the fighting scene or at the cave scene instead? Ugh! Plus! They took so long just for that piece???

Mike Newell directed Goblet of Fire.

Last I heard he was managing Luton Town!!:stunned:
