The reviews have been worrying so far, but then again Half-Blood prince is the weakest of the 7 books 'cos nothing really happens apart from the killing of Michael Gambon

^I'm kind of excited to see him (the actor) go.

Tho I just saw this on wiki:

There are a number of changes from the book in the film. Much of the book's ending has been changed, with the climactic battle and Dumbledore's funeral being removed. Heyman commented that the end battle was removed to "(avoid) repetition" with the forthcoming adaptation of Deathly Hallows. The funeral was removed as it was believed it did not fit with the rest of the film.[72] The collapse of a Muggle bridge mentioned briefly in the book serves as the film's opening sequence.[73] Scenes of Diagon Alley being demolished by Death Eaters and an attack on the Burrow by Bellatrix Lestrange and werewolf Fenrir Greyback are added, as can be seen in the trailers. All but two of the memory scenes, including that of the Gaunts, have been cut. Only the flashbacks of Tom Riddle at the orphanage and Riddle asking Slughorn about Horcruxes, shown twice, remain.[73] Yates said they made the decision to compress the memories, but still "got some really cool ones".[74] Characters who are cut include the Dursleys, Kreacher, Dobby, Bill and Fleur, Rufus Scrimgeour, Cornelius Fudge and the Muggle Prime Minister. However, Quidditch,[75] being excluded from the previous film, returns. Bellatrix Lestrange will also participate in the battle of the astronomy tower, whereas she did not in the book, as seen in a picture with the Carrows and Greyback, celebrating Dumbledore's death. In the book, on the Hogwarts Express, after he is paralysed and hidden under his Invisibility Cloak by Draco Malfoy, Harry is rescued by Nymphadora Tonks. In the film, Luna Lovegood saves him instead, using her Spectrespecs to find him.

what!? :\ that's wayyy too many changes, IMO.

^What did I tell you? They probably killed it. The only good thing about the film will be Dumbeldore's death since it will mean never having to suffer Gambon's failure as Dumbledore again.

I'm fine with most additions except the burrow fight which I'll probably enjoy but grimace through. They say all but two of the memories, but there were only three as I recall, and the second one wasn't essential to the plot, as the ring horcrux had already been destroyed.

I am sort of confused about what people say about the final battle being removed, as there's footage of bellatrix running on top of the tables in the great hall, and harry chasing after snape. So I'm trying to figure out what parts aren't being included, but I guess it will be a lot shorter and streamlined, but not totally erased like it sounds.

They also have pics of Harry and Mrs. Mcgonagall standing next to Dumbledore's white tomb, so while the funeral speech and assembly aren't there, some kind of reflection on dumbledore's death will be included, as far as I see.

man that's awful I don't see the point of changing parts and making up some, I can understand they can't put all the book in the movie but do not invent things

I saw it yesterday...great movie, but only for that, who doesn´t know book much...but for Potter fans...it's no big deal....At the other side, there were great tricks and it was quiet funny...

I wanna see it :bigcry:

I went to amsterdam to see it. A part of the movie was in 3D, which was really cool!

The movie was great, some good special effects, it was really funny too.

I didnt like all the things they've changed. They should have done more with all the lessons Harry got from dumbledore. It come's back a lot in the last book.

Also i didnt understand why they put the house on fire from the weasley's. In the last book a lot of things happens at their house.

But it was still an awesome movie :nice:

Apart from a small scene in the final book.

When Harry 'dies' he meets Dumbledore in limbo and comes back to life.

I saw it in the local cinema, sadly as it weighs in over 2 and a half hours, the management decided to put an interval in the film, between the Pie scene and the fire at Ron's house, which was a bit annoying, but nice to get up cos the seats in the andover cinema ain't that comfy.

Overall the fight be good :)

And god Jinnie is hot

Just watched it... Well it was quite entertaining, but I feel like nothing really happens in more than 2 hours :\

I think that the next one will be better !

Well that was sort of the nature of the book. I mean, loads of things did happen, but in terms of the war against voldemort, all that was saved for the very end.

Don't be another one of those people who moan that they cut X, Y or Z out of the film, cos if they included everything that was in the book the film will be 4+ hours long :P

I wouldn't mind as long as they gave an intermission.

I never had to pee so bad in my life half way thru HBP. :\

lol! I ran to the bathroom minutes before it started to avoid that very problem, but I found myself holding it through-out the last half hour.

I was so excited about the movie I did not think to go ahead of time :disappointed:

About a half hour in I realized I had to take a massive piss, but damned if I was gonna miss part of the movie!

Let's just say I lost about ten pounds in my run to the bathroom afterwards. :dozey:
