Coldplay should ditch Eno.

In my opinion, Viva sounds like a band having fun and enjoying the process of creating. If Eno had any part in that, more power to him.

Here, Here! 3 cheers for Pink!:chris::will::jonny::guy::phil::eno:

Viva opened my eyes to Coldplay and I shall always stand in debt to that album. I HAVE to listen to it from start to finish or it's not as good, and it made my summer 2008. Ditching Brian Eno is not an option, he brought the loveley sounds and if it had been made in AROBTTH style the music would not have been anywhere as good.

Keep Eno until the next album, then you can criticize. Viva is what launched Coldplay big time.

Eno >>>>>>>>>>> Coldplay

Prepare for insults

Honestly, I think one of the things I like least about VLV is the lyrics. I mean, apparently they're the most developed or whatever. But personally, I just miss the sort of sincerity, emotion, and just you know personal touch to the lyrics. Like in Parachutes, AROBTTH, and even X&Y.

But I've always been huge on lyrics, so maybe that's why.

I loved Violet Hill when it came out cause I loved how it was kind of political and about war or whatever but it also tied in the personal, emotional aspects with the "if you love me" bit.

On VLV, they only songs that really do it for my lyrically are Strawberry Swing, Violet Hill, and maybe Death And All His Friends. VLV is actually pretty good in the verses too.

What am I trying to say? I dunno, maybe I'm a sappy ass and want more love songs. I don't think so though. I just want the emotional lyrics Coldplay is known for.

Even, you know, Swallowed In The Sea... the lyrics aren't profound my any stretch, people might say they're simple. But they're heartfelt and that what matters. Even Fix You, people think it's cheese, but I appreciate the simplicity cause it's meaningful.

What about Cemetries of London? Even the Viva La Vida lyrics were well thought of and a good story. For me, their 4th album is their best lyrically. Not perfect, but their best. Better than the lyrics on X&Y but X&Y has fantastic melody.

Oh, and Brian Eno helped create the Zoo TV tour for U2 - which was creatively unbelievable! I think Coldplay are in good hands.

Eno gave them new direction after they were lost in and tired of their own style with X&Y

He brought them together and propelled them onwards. I think he can take them further still

Maybe on this forum, perhaps. I hardly saw any 13 year old kids at the concerts I attended. If anything they were people in their 20's, 30's, 40's, and older. I just didn't see many teens walking around or jamming out to Coldplay's music.

But, naturally, as Coldplay grows in popularity, the age of their fanbase expands, but I don't agree that the demographic has shifted to the majority of 13 year olds.

This is true.

I saw loads of middle aged people at the concert I attended. I also saw some teenyboppers, but as a band gets more popular, they will ALWAYS attract more 13 year olds.
