I have just had tea and layer cake at my neighbour's. She has 95th birthday today. Wonderful cake that Jonny Buckland would also have appreciated. :)

 

What is the weather like in Canada? Here it is 13 degrees Celsius - in another place of Denmark - Jutland which had a winter with lots of snow back in January and February - they had up to 19-20 degrees Celsius today.

I am fine - not only did I had nice tea and cake with my neighbours, but I also had time to enjoy the verandah on this very nice, warm Spring day - the first time this year I have actually been out in my verandah.

A veranda (spelled without "h", so a typo) definition from the Oxford Dictionary of current English): A covered platform along the side of a house.

 

I live in a tall building where I have a nice 3-room flat / apartment. Llast spring the verandas were mounted along the side of the building, and in August they were ready for use. But these verandas are very hot during the summer when the sun is on. It can easily be 40 to 50 degrees Celsius in the afternoon and until 21pm due to the sun shining direct into the veranda. Being too hot I have not yet used my veranda so much, but will. Until now it has been too cold out there as the veranda is not heated.

The veranda is roofed, and mine is also covered to both sides so that I cannot look into the verandas or apartments of my neighbours. There are windows that can be drawn to the side so that the veranda can be made open.
