CLASS OF 2011

Featured Replies

Both of my parents dropped out of school. :)

I wasn't implying anything, I was just saying it in the same way I tell everyone about me being a human statue when I graduate high school.

What really pisses me off is when people have "class pride". Like at pep rallies when they see which class can scream the loudest. Fucking shit. Luckily this past year my math teacher didn't realize you have to go to the pep rallies, so a few of us skipped out and just went home lol.

Pep rallies can be fun...at times........ homecoming pep rallies at our school kick ass :cool4:

Class of 2010 ftw

Our year number looks so fucking cool...2010

:shame: it's true...

I have 9 days til junior year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

O.o How old are you?!?!

  • Author

Apparently :p

Well...I'm old. Graduated high school in '97 and graduated college in '02.

Okay, so after reading through this thread, I have a LOT of strong opinions, but I won't voice them because I don't feel like arguing with stubborn teenagers...........but I will say this, and this is coming from a teacher's standpoint. When we say "you could be so much better" it's because we see your potential. Sometimes we even see a bit of ourselves in our students. We want so much for you to realize your potential and reach it before it's too late....before you have to look back years later and think, "I wish I would've tried harder."

I will sometimes go home and wonder how I can reach that one student that refuses to listen. It's maddening! It's because I care. It's because I want to reach that student and try to open their eyes: make them see they are just coasting and are enabling their own mediocrity when they could be brilliant; they could make a difference in a big way.

You just don't know. You just don't. Some of you say you "hate teachers" and that just breaks me. Those teachers you hate care about you. They don't harp at you because they hate you. They do that because they want to see you succeed. I had teachers like that when I was in school that I thought were pure hardasses, but now I see....

And just know that when some of you go home at night and wax indifferent about school...just remember that your teachers go home and think about you...how they can reach you...how they can make a difference in your education and life.

So, maybe you think your teachers don't do that, but I do. I'm a teacher. And I care.

Sorry for the long post. It's just something I feel passionately about.

I hate about 80% of teachers. Some are pretty cool, but I can't tell you how many times teachers have graded my work incorrectly just because they don't like me and I don't agree with every word they say. Most believe they're never wrong. I had one moron this year tell me Homo Sapiens are a distant relative to humans, and they died out thousands of years ago.

I don't think you should go around preaching that all teachers are angels. I had a teacher who hit a kid (in the face) once. I also had a teacher who told me I spelled a word wrong in a spelling bee just because she didn't like me (the word has two alternate spellings).

I hate the public school system as a whole. The whole idea of having underpaid government workers attempt to teach our youth makes me cringe. My kids will go to private school, where they can afford some decent teachers.

Those two teachers who told me I could be valedictorian are actually two of the best teachers I've come across so far in high school.

Anyways, no need for you to feel bad about the long post. If it's something you feel passionately about I'm glad to discuss it with you.

I had a teacher in 7th and 9th grade who was a complete and total perv, not to mention an asshole.

He was always "reading" girls shirts. If you catch my drift....

*shudders at the thought of that teacher*

I definitely do not think all teachers are angels. So, agreed on that point: not all teachers are created equal.

Oh God :o

Oh God :o

I think he boosted my grade up at the end of the year too :stunned:

But whatever. I fucking deserved it. All the shit I went through for that class? All the work and tests and bullshit we had to do?!

Like I said, not only a perv but an asshole too :dozey:

I had a teacher once who would drop pens when girls were wearing skirts and "pick them up".

Holy shit, you had to LEARN? and do TESTS? The he GRADED you? Jesus, you'd think you were at school or something...

Fucking lol'd.

Well girls I know one story that`s a bit diferent...at the school that I studied at there was this crazy girl that fall for the physical education teacher and she said to everyone that she had been kissed by that teacher. The man had investigation about this person done...And at the end of all of it he was innocent and proved that. But it was a really mad moment for all school, for the teachers and the students..
