Space Invader
the fact: Obama became the first african-american to became president of the United States... I was talking to a guy... a few months ago... having a normal conversation... I asked him about his country... : "Well, I live in a free country, very beautiful, and My president Is Barack Obama (Maybe he thought i live in a cave) , and I'm very proud to say that My president is Black!" Dude!... South Africa's President is black too... What's the big deal? Showing that aspect only tells me that people still care about the roots of the population (black or white)... you know what i mean? SO, do you agree with me saying that this is another sign of racialism? Maybe I'm wrong... :nice:

Crests
I think the fact that people make any kind of a big deal about a black president is a bit racist. If it wasn't racist, they wouldn't care.
noonsun
1) Africa doesn't have a president. 2) Racialism is not what you call it. 3) Of course that statement shows racism, he is judging the president based on the color of his skin. By definition that is a racist statement.

Darlene_Ihnfsa
i think you are right... people tend to make a big deal of things that would not do in other cases (just change the fact he is black, what if he were blind, do you ever heard about a president that is blind?, why can't they be presidents if they are well prepared just because they have some handicap they can't be presidents?) and that is a racial comment, a big step back if you ask me, don't we have broke those things already? then why to make a big deal of it, don't we should see it as a normal thing instead of highlight it? btw Africa is a continent not a single country. TechnicolorGreenEyes
You're right in the sense that it shouldn't be a big deal, but it is really, so it's good that it was celebrated

What a fucking ridiculous thing to say, really. don't we have broke those judgamental chains we had? then why there can't be a president with some handicap? are they less person and less prepared just for that? is the same, don't black people were considered as inferior to the rest (white) just because of the colour of their skin?... it shouldn't mix with what that person is and how well prepare they are. if we think someone should or shouldn't be a president judging by their looks, then why we won't vote supermodels instead of current politicians? people should care of how well prepared they are or not (or how less liar they are), and not judge by other less important things. (and i won't keep that battle going).

If he weren't a smooth talking black guy, he wouldn't have been elected. I was surprised when he actually started pressing healthcare reform like he said he would, I just assumed he was a robot going "change... change... change" over and over and wouldn't do jackshit in office. But I agree, if he hadn't gone "change... change... change" he wouldn't've gotten elected.

Josh42
Is it just me or do any of you people feel that minorities are going to dominate the office of the presidency for a while now? Next president's probably going to be a woman, after that probably a latino, then asians will want a shot. (This is all assuming America lasts another 20 years)
