Viva la Vida or Death and all his friends is my second favourite coldplay album, but it could have been better without media pressure and mainstream influence in general. For example, why making a song with Jay-Z when you can make it with a large list of better artists? Coldplay have evolved to something new, they like now certain artists and attitudes but I don't. So I rather keep listening to A rush of blood to the head and some songs. Besides some songs got eaten unfortunately by the mainstream, like Clocks and Viva la Vida, which I love, and forever will.

Why?

 

They used to be rock, now they're pop.

 

They use to be endearingly self-depricating, now it just seems insincere.

 

Chris used to hang out with Tim from Ash, now it's Jay-Z.

 

Guy used to be a raging alcohol diva, now he just takes photos.

 

It used to go "I'm gonna buy a gun and start a war, if you can tell me something worth fighting for", now it goes "those who are dead are not dead, they're just living in my head."

 

They used to wear pants and a t-shirt, now they wear costumes.

 

Jonny used to have his amazing slide solos, now he gets nothing.

 

Chris used to idolize Radiohead, now he idolizes Beyonce.

 

Chris used to be able to hit all the notes, now he just dances.

 

 

Add on to the list you guys.

 

They're still alternative just like before. Alternative doesn't have a lot of limits.

 

Are you honestly saying that Chris seems insincere during his VLV tour performances? He's even more into that he used to be, and he moves around at least twice as much! And is self deprication supposed to be a good thing?:thinking:

 

Jay-Z isn't all that bad. Lost + was pretty amazing.

I also don't get this one. Both of these lines are amazing.

 

Their costumes are amazing. They pull everything about the VLVODAAHF together. Pants and t-shirts aren't exactly creative and original.
