The Degradation Of Coldplay

LiT is genius.

I always imagine Coldplay fans turning on that record for the first, hearing that and being like WOW. Then the rest just can't live up to it.

So I read like... 10 pages of this thread and then couldn't take it anymore :P I think this thread is completely ridiculous. I love old Coldplay, and I love new Coldplay. I've accepted that they've changed, and I don't whine about it. They're still the same band with the same style, and if you don't like VLV just listen to AROBTTH. I think their sound is maturing quite nicely- just look at the detail and atmosphere in LIT2. I've always thought that even though VLV is a new sound that's really different from Parachutes or AROBTTH, it doesn't matter because I can still go back and listen to those older albums.

They're not going downhill, they're maturing, people. You want them to still stick with a piano, a guitar, bass and drums for every album? :snore: And I like the Viva era, I think it's really exciting, and vibrant, and joyful. And I think Chris is definitely still the same dork that he was in 2000 :P

Sorry to disagree with you Prospekt, I still think you're one of the wittiest people on the board :P

I enjoyed Lovers In Japan so much when I first heard it.

I don't mind that you disagree. I'd expect that on a Coldplay forum. Other people don't seem to though. :P

good point. tack piano was a nice addition. and the drums on lost were a nice change.

I enjoyed Lovers In Japan so much when I first heard it.

I didn't like LIJ until the Osaka Sun Mix came out, because I despise Reign of Love :uhoh: Once I heard it on its own and heard it live, though, I started to love it :nice:

I remember when VLV first came out everyone here said LIJ was their favorite song on the album, and I didn't understand what everyone liked about it so much!

hey notlost92 sorry i dont know ur name

but ur siggy did chris really say that

about the gywneth paltrow thing ? x

huh? No, he didn't, it's from a review of my concert...

*is glad that people are agreeing with me instead of killing me* :laugh3:

People are cool with your opinion because you're the first person who hasn't gotten mad as hell and taken it all personally.

Also, I CANNOT BELIEVE I MISSED THAT HUGE FIGHT WHERE PRO-COLDPLAY SIDE OF ARGUMENT DECIDED TO TAKE EVERYTHING SAID PERSONALLY AND BACKED EACH OTHER UP WITH "YOU GO, SISTA!"

Ye.

Whaaat?

Was It Something I SAID???

I agree coldplay has gotten worse, maybe not musically, but on other aspects, like live performances, behavior with the media etc... and well, musically they have gone a bit mainstream.

no, no its just this whole thread in general

i didnt mean to get mad or anything.

i just like to stand up for them. I'm glad that they are experimenting.

and i don't understand why you guys would be so against that still

I was joking :bigcry:

And nobody has said anything against them being experimental AFAIK

oh haha :laugh3:

and no i didnt mean it like that but everyones like

"bring back parachutes"

"bring back AROBTTH"

i mean they have to expand, they are way tooo creative to be described as one genre you know?

and then when people get mad at me for only being fifteen (technically i was fourteen when i discovered them.

a majority of the people here discovered them around tha age too so i dont see the problem.

im sorry im just younger than them?

thats all :nice:

But you pay me no attention, do you?
