Coldplay's Next Album

Featured Replies

So, I was reading some Coldplay video comments on YouTube and some were mentioning that Coldplay may be coming out with their new album in late 2009. Some said mid-2010.

Either way, it's really soon! Is it true that their new album will be out within the next year? It's like... too good to be true.

Oh, and when will this Christmas song be happening? It sounds so freeeeeeeaking unbelievable and fantastic and breathtaking and beautiful and lots of other good adjectives.

it wont, they'll probably take one or 2 years

They're not going to pop out an album out of nowhere, they haven't even been in the studio yet. Last time we got info about Viva la Vida some year and a half before it even came out. The rumors were saying SEPTEMBER OF 08! It came out almost a year later.

Okay, that sounds more believable.

I wonder how I will survive.

They are actually in the studio though, right?

Because I watched a 60 minutes thing about them like last week online and they were in the studio already working on a new album.

It won't necessarily ever be released. Many many songs from the Viva era were either changed or dumped altogether, so don't hold your breath.

That 60 minutes thing was many months ago. Yea, they were just scratching the surface. They won't start hardcore producing and mixing until they get the producers in and all. Right now they just have ideas. No recordings yet.

I think it'll be at least 2-3 years before we see a new album.

They very well may be tired at the end of the tour and take a hiatus. I would if I was them. All this time away from your family. Chris hasn't boned Gwyneth in like a year. That's gotta be tough.

I'd predict late 2010. 3 years from now would be 4 years after Viva la Vida, which is insane. They usually take 2-3 years.

(Edited for math failure)

Ah, ok.

Yeah, I didn't really think a new album will be released within the next year, I just really need this to be clarified.

HAHAHAHA.

Yes, very true.

I was shocked when I saw those comments anyway. I was like, this can't be true...

i saw the christmas lights vid on youtube. freakin AMAZING SONG! and it was only like a 30 sec clip!! just imagine the whole song!!!

seeing as how they have released an album every 3 years since they came out. I'm guessing maybe 2011 at the latest. but It seems like 2010 is most probable.

I hope if they release it they change the lyrics just a bit though. "Six feet of snow" is... a lot. :shocked2: I mean that's the kind of snow that was caving in roofs back home last winter. Even on Chrismas that much snow is not fun. ;)

i assume you mean SEPTEMBER OF 07! :P

Christmas Lights could be their greatest song ever, if they just change it to a non-Christmas song. Don't get me wrong, Christmas music is great, it's one of the best parts about Christmas, but if Coldplay released it AS A CRISTMAS song I could only listen to it in December.

If that makes sense.

WOW. Fucking hell I am tired.

I listen to Coldplay's Christmas songs all year long!

well from what i heard it dont sound like a christmas song. it just talks about it. but who cares i mean its chris and the piano. i could listen to him play the piano forever and it would never ever get old.
