Oh and I got my Muslim friend to read this thread and he wanted me to tell you that he laughed at some of your responses, faith =/= fear of punishment, and that you're all idiots.

You should get him to post in here to help set the record straight.;)

Most human beings are rational and perfectly capable of controlling themselves, thankfully, and don't need to be "protected from themselves by draconian laws.

If indeed they do then rape or murder, they can be dealt with by the law (as was the guy who stabbed his wife and ran her over for refusing to obey him).;)

So are you saying that we should wait until someone is killed or raped or harmed in general before we should take any action?

What I'm saying is that, the Islamic Law might not make sense to you, but it does for me. There will always be disagreement as you are a believer of certain values and I'm of the other. Like I said before, you've made up your mind and I've made mine. I've come to the notion that we disagree on this issue, so that's it.

Btw, I apologize if I appeared to be rude to you earlier, it was just me being defensive.

Since when has it been possible to predict murder or rape??

OK. I've said all along that people should be able to discuss such topics on here without getting personal.;)

first of all my english isn't really good :P

anyway...

No, I think you're not defending your beliefs and just senselessly shouting that Mark has gone too far, and needs to go away because you might be afraid of something.

ahh!!

what the hell am i afraid of? tell me if you know, because i have no idea

then start defending it by calmly explaining what's wrong with the article. Your perspective is very valuable here.

...

ok you certainly don't understand what i was saying the whole thread long,

I want threads about Islam to stop, and if you want more, about every religion!

we're in a forum for music and not about religion and such things

and as for the article,

well i'm against the fact that the malaysian Government doesn't have to punish the woman of what she did, sure the woman is not allowed to drink, but her punishement belongs to Allah and no one else,

that is Islam, and what the Malaysian Government is doing is applying its laws, i can't discuss about it

ze scientist but surely there is 1 person in the muslim world who don't believe in violence? Any kind of violence as punishment is for me at least and countless others, completely abhorred.

a real Muslim don't believe in violence.

as i said above i'm agree that they're not allowed to punish her, but in Islam she did a BIG sin, that's not nothing

and no! i don't believe in violence, i'm against

and finally do you know what Islam means

PEACE!

and this is how i see my religion even if some people apply it in the wrong way, we're not perfect after all

Nope, insulting Muslim governments. Muslim people in America are totally chill, and they have a much higher quality of life.

lol

i don't know if you're a believer, but our religion and American point of view are very different, and as Rudy said America isn't a muslim country so they don't really care if Muslim people sin (drinking alcohol) or not,

How many people are executed in the US every year? I believe were the second worst in the modern world behind China.

We imprison a large portion of our population for carrying around a plant, we don't have a lot of room to stand on moral high ground.

Every nation has problems like this, every culture and religion.

Were so modern our armies still carry out genocides in foreign nations. And give money and weapons to nations to do it when we can't...yeah were really a moral light in the modern world....

thank you so much!!!

if someone here believes in no violence, then capital punishement should be forbiden

and that's so right, every country every religion isn't perfect, there's obligatory a fail somewhere,

How many more times do we have to explain that these threads are about ridiculous and draconian laws and punishments, not religion?

It isn't the media's fault that the states employing such draconian methods happen to be ones implementing Sharia Law.:dozey:

Male-dominated governments/theologians invent such punishments, not deities.;)

Still doesn't excuse the medieval punishment.;)

I'm sure most people here are anti-capital punishment too. That still doesn't excuse corporal punishment.;)

ok then how come is this happenning only with ridiculous and draconian laws and punishments ( to use your words :) ) in relation with Islam

Male-dominated governments/theologians invent such punishments, not deities.;)

yes!

Still doesn't excuse the medieval punishment.;)

no it doesn't cause that's wrong, and sure i'm against

i hope so

this comment was only to say that every government has a fail and not only Muslim's governments

PS: oh you changed your favourite smiley

Maybe because it's only extremist Islamic states that are coming up with such ridiculously extreme punishments for such minor offences as drinking beer and wearing trousers??:dozey:

If people were merely fined for committing these "offences", it wouldn't be news.;)

Glad to hear it.

That's true, but two wrongs don't make a right.

That's only for when I'm not being serious.;)

oh no that's not a minor offence (alcohol mostly), you have to understand that it's a big sin in our religion, so don't take it slow!

That's true' date=' but two wrongs don't make a right.[/quote']

unfortunatelly yes,

i think i have nothing else to add

What one sees as a minor offence the other sees as a major one, how can you judge who's right? If you're punishing somebody for something it'll either hurt physically or mentally, and who can judge what's the right thing to do?

Physical punishment is barbaric, archaic and unjustified. End of story.;)
