Matter-Eater Lad
I'm proud of you Eric! I wish I could have gone. The media wants to downplay this, but it will end up hurting them because more and more people are realizing that the mainstream media is horrible and does not reflect the people but a few elites who want you to share their opinion. Saffire
Bunch of complaining idiots, the majority of whom don't even know what they're complaining about. The people in this country are so stupid and whiny. Right, because there's an unlimited supply of healthcare to go around! It's just those greedy insurance companies that's keeping everyone from getting a hospital bed, a top-notch doctor, and all the medicine they could ever eat! Now that genius Obama is on the case, everyone can get free healthcare! Next up: Free ponies! I'm just afraid if the terrorists see that we are having so much fun, and so much freedom, then they'd get jealous and want to attack us again! The people in this country are so stupid and whiny. Standing up for freedom and sound fiscal policy is stupid? If I rob you and you complain are you just a whining bitch? They know exactly what they're complaining about, high debt, bailing out of oligarch's, high taxes and a runaway government that is economically unsustainable. Look up the Argentine debt crisis and the Japanese lost generation to see what high government debt/spending does to nations. Know the facts, don't just complain about people you don't like, that makes you an idiot.

Now that genius Obama is on the case, everyone can get free healthcare! Wow, you're honestly the most retarded person I've met if you believe Obama's plan is to give everyone free healthcare. There's a difference between free healthcare for all and a government-sponsored plan that forces competition on the otherwise uncontrolled insurance companies. If you actually listened to him speak instead of just thinking up ways to joke about him then maybe you'd be a little less ignorant.
Matter-Eater Lad
You can't force competition by undercutting competition, that's basic economics. If Obama wanted competition he'd remove federal bans keeping people from buying health insurance from anywhere in the country or world. If you sold something and the government came in and gave it away for almost free that wouldn't be competition. If you listened to him speak you didn't get the picture, if you searched what he said and crunched the numbers instead of listening to pretty words you'd realize what he said and what he is doing are two different things. Like the Congressional Budget Office saying his plan WILL add a lot of the deficit, when he said it wouldn't. You can listen to sweet talk or look at the facts, ignorance or intelligence. Matter-Eater Lad
Get ready Obama for REAL change! I can't tell you how many former Obama supporters I am hearing that are fed up with nothing really changing. The few on here think it's just me and other "right wing" people who feel this way, we'll they're not in touch with reality like both parties. Both parties are in for a big change, because more and more people from both sides and the middle are coming together and saying enough is enough, Dems and Repubs, Bush and Obama are the same. This isn't just my feelings, but a ever increasing number of average Americans I hear each day, and I love it. Saffire
I've been hearing a lot of conflicting reports about how many people were at this protest (not like it matters), but I've seen figures spanning 40k all the way up to 2 million. It seems like someone could get some good air shots that could be used to estimate crowd size.

It sounds like it was closer to 2 million if any news agency says less than hundreds of thousands, they either weren't there, or they are flat out lying. this is very far away from the center of the protest: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1cqF0YkuZc&feature=channel_page]YouTube - 9/12 Protesters Washington, D.C. Matter-Eater Lad
Obama is a smart guy, I don't understand why he's making the same mistakes as Bush and ignoring a massive movement in the country. Say what you want about Glenn Beck, he's one of the few people on tv that does his research and states the facts. All I can see is people personally attack him, but not anything he brings up. His video brings up an interesting fact for Health Care "Reform", 10 billion dollars to union leaders....this Health Care "Reform" bill will only send the price up and waste money we don't have. Like I said, jaded I have become with politics in general. Aaron, I'm so glad you're finally seeing politics for what it actually is! I used to be completely caught up in it, wasting my time worrying about individual bills, politicians, parties, etc. There is no such thing as the "Republican" and "Democrat" parties. There are only Republicrats and they all do the same thing. But don't let this make you sad, just be an observer to the stupidity and enjoy your life and your relationships with the people around you. Nobody needs government to be happy! Nick: I read some of the most disgusting anger and vitriol directed toward Glenn Beck on other message boards, and it really shows how bitter some people can get about politics. I disagree with Glenn on many things, but I'm thrilled when he says something insightful or true. Same goes with Rush Limbaugh or Bill Maher. I'm tired of this personality contest, let's judge each commentator on the content of their statements.
zacarooni
healthCARE can some one tell me why there is a problem with Free healthcare. Its a wonderful thing never having to worry about the hostpital bills. It would be great if a American can give me an opinion. Im not wanting an arguement, I just want some to explain why everyone is so opposed to it. Also why socailism is a bad word. America is the is the only country in the developed world which does not have free healthcare. To me it just does not make sense. A country that is so eager to help out the world be liberating it from terrorism and terrorists isnt even prepared to help its own citizens. The amount of support after the attacks on 9/11 that the people of the US showed seems to stop when it comes to things like public health. It would be great if some one could get these questions answered for me.
