So can anyone suggest their personal favourite tv/film documentaries they have watched and you should recommend?

 

Well for me, I HIGHLY recommend Michael Palin's travel doc, "Around The World In 80 Days". It was filmed in 1988, but as time has made that documentary even better than it was 20 years ago. Just looking at how culture has changed in that time will blow your mind away but more importantly Palin really makes you feel like you're actually with him. You really have to get the DVD, it is fantastic.

Man On Wire, a French documentary about a man who tightrope walked between the World Trade Center Towers, is absolutely excellent!

funny, touching, life-affirming and heart-breaking all rolled up into one. sooo good. and, they even do a rendition of Fix You.

I saw Young at heart at the theater and cry like a baby during the old man performance of Fix you....

(I wondered after seeing this if the boys had seen it but in ITV a little later, Will said he did and loved it. The journalist then showed the vid to the other...very touching)

Yes! That's perfect! Anything by David Attenbrough is documentary gold. And Walking With Dinosaurs was quite something when it came out first. Was it Kenneth Branagh who narrated it?

 

Also I've heard quite a lot about that Young At Heart film.
