But the good old pokemon versions.

Blue, Red and Yellow.

Gold and Silver were great as well.

Then it went downhill..

Ruby was pretty good, but yeah nothing on the originals, I wont even look at the new ones.

I loved Ruby and Sapphire, and Emerald  Those games were mainly only good if you had other people playing it you could trade/battle with tho, the single player isn't that great except Emerald's Battle Frontier (don't bother with any of the others)

Anyways I got my very first console last Friday (I never had a non-handheld as a kid), a PLAYSTATION 1. I mention it so this thread doesn't turn into an old-school Nintendo thread. I've got Crash Bandicoot 3, Mortal Kombat 4 and Tony Hawk's Skateboarding for it, getting Spyro 1 shipped here tomorrow.

I played those too, but nothing like the old ones <3

But I hated having Pikachu behind me while playing Yellow.

IT's not exclusively nintendo, but yeah, i had ps1 too, but never really played it..

I liked tony hawk :awesome:

I miss those old days. :disappointed:

Today's video games are too advanced, I think. :uhoh:

Well, if you were a kid now there wouldn't be much you could get apart from the Swing Your Arms Around Looking Like An Idiot Nintendo System (Wii) and DS games.

Xbox 360s and PS3s are marketed for older players. Not to mention the games on all three are crap for the young ones.

So true, LOL.

Xbox is awesome, I love Dead Space.

I actually really like the Wii. I don't own one but whenever I am at someone's house who has one we play on it and it's great fun for a bunch of people to do when they're bored. Plus it does get you moving, so you don't lock up and lose circulation like with a controller (which always used to happen to me). I hope they keep up this trend that Wii started.

Well you're going to be pleased, Microsoft's next console will be movement-oriented but will use a camera instead of controllers.

As the technology improves they could do some really neat stuff. Like virtual boxing where you wear sensors and you actually hit each other, and the senors measure your pain and use that to measure your health in the game. :awesome:

So, move like an idiot without a controller console?

Without a controller, yes, you still need the console tho.

Did anyone here play Chip's Challenge??

It was installed on the PCs in the boarding school I went to 9 years ago and I loved it!!

Now that's what I'm talking about! Best games I had the pleasure to play on it? Super Monaco Grand Prix and probably the best of the lot Micro Machines 2!

Don't talk about things you know nothing about

Project Natal is an add on, not a new console and it looks like it's going to be amazing, voice recognition etc, so you can lock your console until you open it with your voice.
