May 4, 201016 yr Currently I am recording an EP (just started yesterday actually) of songs I have written and played at gigs over the past year or so. Nothing new, it will just sort of be a sum up of my main music thus far. A good list to listen to if you want to get a general idea for my sound. Should be done by summer. Also I am still writing my full length album of all new never-before-heard songs, which I expect to start recording and hopefully release over the summer.

It's probably the most depressing song I've ever wrote. Some day's I think it's my best work, some days I think it's pure shit. And yes I'm John Mayer white :D

One song comes to mind when I think about the overall idea I guess if you were going to compare it's "idea" to something else but by no means is the song I'm thinking of on my level (and when I say that the other song is on a way higher plain then mine.

June 12, 201016 yr hey guys, i'd like very much if you'd listen to my album/demo. the album is in my sig there are ten tracks but they haven't been named yet. here is the tracklisting but some of the names aren't anything and are just what was written down at the time and will be changed. 1. Messenger 2. Straw Of The Dene 3. From The Dark 2 4. Keep It Clean 5. Tiny 6. (Ok) I'll Stop Messing Around 7. Snower 8. Genie (Feral Child) 9. Mega Kill Death 10. Haymarket it's a collaborative effort between me and my mate. influenced by radiohead and nick drake it's mainly acoustic. there is the odd mistake left in and we would like to develop it further but don't haven't had the time to add more instruments yet but the main structure of all the songs is there so you can see what they are about. hopefully we will have time this summer as a local label which has just been set up are interested in getting us in a studio to do a few things so that could be cool. we also sent a few of the songs to martin grech's producer (if you don't know that guy he's the one who wrote open heart zoo and it's a really good song and is up on youtube) and he said he enjoyed it and to send more. he described it as dreamy and naive, in a good way. i personally think it's better listened to in order of the tracklisting but i'm not sure in what order it will download so you may have to arrange that yourself. if you don't want to commit to downloading ten tracks check out our myspace page to get a glimpse of what we are like, starting with messenger - http://www.myspace.com/mrwrennmusic any feedback would be much appreciated and criticism, even if it isn't constructive criticism, is welcome.

June 16, 201016 yr Author The Scientist Man: I gave both songs a listen! I think that they definitely have potential to sound great. I think that the songs are good and the vocals work really well, and whomever is singing really can get some good and powerful notes. Of the two songs I like the 2nd song more than the first. I feel that the 2nd one (Lost Within) is more interesting in terms of the composition and how the song is layered for the recording. I still feel that both songs could probably use some work in terms of working on mixing the instruments and also possibly adding more instruments as well. Good work though! Braddock: I like the stripped down quality of your songs having few instruments within the mix. I think that your mix for the songs work well. I also like how the guitar playing is not exactly typical finger-picking, but can change tempo. It's as though I feel you don't exactly know where the guitar is going in that it's slightly random with how the person is playing, but I still feel that it works well and makes it interesting. Your music reminds me sort of Animal Collective. I think that the harmonies work well within the songs. I find the music to be very relaxing, and since it is late here it's enjoyable to listen to at night. I feel that the bass in the songs could be a bit more interesting, in the sense perhaps you could have fewer notes or try different notes (rather than the root). Also From the Dark reminds me a lot of the acoustic version of Thom Yorke's The Clock, not just the chords, but also the style of playing. Was it influenced by that? Overall I really enjoy your music. I like the style of fingerpicking, it really works well.
June 24, 201016 yr hey, i'm really sorry, i missed the feedback. just seen it now. thank you so much for taking the time to listen to it. there isn't an actual bass used on the recordings in the majority of songs and the guitar used cost £30 about 5 years ago haha. only four strings work properly now but it will be replaced this summer for a proper one. as for the clock perhaps it was influenced subconsciously but it wasn't something intentional. i'll give it a listen since i can't remember the acoustic version and if it's really similar it might need dropping/rewriting. we are currently writing new material and are trying to write a few slower songs with less finger picking. fingerpicking s our strong point and we prefer tose songs but we feel we need some balance. we have bought an organ too and are going to write some songs around that. the link on here doesn't work anymore because it reached the download limit so here is a new link. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7XDL3Z6I

July 19, 201016 yr I've been singing for years now (mostly casually) and have recently thought that my voice has developed a lot. About a year ago...I just...couldn't sing high. I just couldn't do falsetto! But in the past few months, I've sort of found my voice now, found out what I can do and what I can't do. I have now decided I want to start making music and am going to try to teach myself keyboard and guitar (i know bits and bobs). I think I will do a few covers in the next few months and I'll post them up here for you to check out and see what you think. I may even do an acapella one! That might be interesting...haha.
