princesanji
sure? don't you rather mean synth strings? (or generally digital strings) though there is some real violin in it, partly... (and this one is either E or A)

QuestionsOfScience
How do they create the sound? My keyboard doesn't have a sound like that.
princesanji
my yamaha does! they do - imo - the best sounds... but you might have to mix them, of course!
moss
you know what i don't get, when they play live the strings come in on backing track, when chris plays it for a short time the sound is the same ? and doesn't it keep going even when jonny's not playing? idk performance? Its just backing noise. Chris and Jonny really do play it live, but it loops after.
PianoRocker
Oh I'm talking about the actual strings they used:P Very possible that they are from the Yamaha piano Chris is using..

At the grammies, Jonny was playing the strings, and it was a small keyboard, haha.

I've got a DGX-520 model and the closest sound I can get is Chamber strings and it sounds rubbish!

You can copy the string 'preset' from the piano and use in in like Kontakt or other programs.

drumz12
NO! live the actual strings are looped, what chris and jonny are playing is a harpsichord sound. Look on BBC performance (chris strikes a chord early b4 the song, and its obviously harpsichord.)
