If Coldplay played the Super Bowl...

Featured Replies

If they did play the Super Bowl i'd be interested to see their take on 'wardrobe malfunction'.

I immediately thought of that when The Who were playing at halftime. It was a great game anyways, I personally love both the Colts and the Saints.

Coldplay definitely deserves to play at the Superbowl, and hopefully soon, no doubt about it. However, I think that the band would have to go in a rockier direction when they're on stage. There are still many Americans who hate Coldplay and their music because they're too "soft." The game would be the perfect way to break barriers and realize to the world how amazing the boys are.

I'd say the best way to go in a setlist would be Politik, Clocks, and something from X&Y and VLV. Even Glass of Water could work. Remember CP headlining Glastonbury in 2002? Imagine the energy they could bring to the stadium. :D

As did I. (Also I couldn't agree more about the Colts and Saints. ;))

Sad, but true, the American music industry is defined by catchy beats and/or loud music. Quite honestly, that isn't music. Music isn't the same electronic drum pattern over and over (and over) again in a song, nor is it necessarily quiet music. Music is soul. And quite frankly, Coldplay fits the quiet category, but more than anything, they fit into the "soul" category.

So yes, I would thoroughly enjoy Coldplay performing at Super Bowl 45. (One can hope, eh?):p

As for a set list, I think it would be nice to hear:

Politik (like another user suggested)

Shiver

Viva la Vida

Violet Hill
